    Brewstand Regrets?

My brew pot out to pump in is a vertical distance of 24"... Would that be enough height? Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Brewstand Regrets?

I definitely plan on a single tier. For now I will build in one burner as I am still doing DME and partial grain brews. I plan to move to all grain soon so will build it with that in mind. I plan on painting it with engine paint, so I have to build it, disassemble it, lightly sand it, wash it...

    Brewstand Regrets?

So, I've gone with the slotted steel. It will be more modular and I will be able to change it down the road or add on if need be. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Brewstand Regrets?

Thanks for the advice. I chose it more for looks. Slotted steel would be easier to work with as all the holes are pre-drilled. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Brewstand Regrets?

Thanks for the advice. I only selected Aluminum for the look of the stand when completed vs. using slotted angle iron.i know some have made their stands from Al slotted tubing, but this is thinner stock. Hmmmm Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Brewstand Regrets?

Just wondering if anyone who built their brewstands themselves had any advice or wished they had done it differently somehow? I plan to build a single tier out of Aluminum L channel: 54" x 18" x 28" high. I'm wondering if it is too tall for how wide it is... Will it be too top heavy? Any...

Just wanted to mention that although I'm too much of a NOOB to help, I really appreciate a well written post with excellent grammar! 😎 Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Should I add fining Gelatin to a stout?

Interesting. I just added gelatin to an already cold crashed cream ale. I got the snot you mention and was thinking it could have been clearer. I will add it to warm brew, then cold crash it before bottling. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Should I add fining Gelatin to a stout?

Thanks everyone. I think I will add gelatin. I quite enjoy the art of it all, so adding another step is fine by me! I just didn't want to "ruin" it being a NOOB. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Should I add fining Gelatin to a stout?

So, it occurred to me that I may not want to or need to add fining gelatin to my Dark Belgian Stout, but I can't decide. Does it have any benefit in a dark beer? I usually add some Irish moss to the boil, but forgot this time (too many beers in my system). Does anyone else clear dark beer, or is...

    Capping Heineken Bottles

My capper only came with one bell (beginners kit). I think it's a knockoff of the Red Baron. Good point though, cause Heineken caps don't look much bigger than the crown caps. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Capping Heineken Bottles

So a batch of new bottles was the cure. Didn't mess up one cap and they all crimped beautifully. The guy at the Local home brew shop also said that the smaller crown can be problematic on Heineken bottles. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Darkstar issues

+1 My BBQ has done this to me a few times and I've had to "reset" it. Will only simmer and operates normally after a reset.
