Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

I’m gonna throw a Hail Mary and guess potassium chloride.

What do you guys think - gelatin fining in keg or gelatin fining in pressure primary at crash temp?

    Shout out to Morebeer

MoreBeer rules. They constantly put out cool content too, and you can tell they genuinely care about the community. I've dealt with Vito directly a few times, and he's gone above and beyond for me when he didn't have to. One thing I will say - you will receive fantastic support from them if...

    Warm Fermented Lager Thread

I'll update in here, for posterity. Tomorrow is one week since pitch. The spunding valve is set to 25psi now @ 68-70ºF, and still off-gassing (whether or not it's ferm activity or just CO2 breaking out). We'll see what story the gravity tells starting tomorrow. I'll likely plan on crashing...

    Warm Fermented Lager Thread

Hoping so! It's still going, bit by bit. Down to 1.012 today. Not the end of the world if it doesn't reach desired vols via spunding!

    Warm Fermented Lager Thread

Sampled today. It's sitting at 1.016 from 1.053. Tastes lovely, but yeasty (of course). Closed up the spunding valve to 25psi, though I missed the boat for a decent natural carb by a few points.

    Warm Fermented Lager Thread

Just brewed a Vienna-ish lager on Saturday and it's rocking now. 90% Weyermann Vienna, 10% Swaen Melany, 28 IBU with all Perle. Pitched Diamond and it's fermenting at 68ºF now under 15psi of pressure (from the start). Excited to see how this one turns out. Wort tasted excellent. The SPUNDit is...

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

Interesting. I just watched one of Treehouses YouTube videos and Nate said "...fermentation temperature somewhere in the low 70's". @ 3:52 -

Ongoing Review: BrewHardware Premium Recirculating BIAB Package

Keep us posted on this for sure. I've visited Bobby a few times for some odd jobs and chatted with him. He's a great dude, and knows what he's doing for sure. Easy to have full confidence in him.

    Immersion Chiller quick disconnects?

Thanks so much for the info!

    Immersion Chiller quick disconnects?

I'm curious if my copper inlet and outlets are too out-of-round by now to utilize these

    Immersion Chiller quick disconnects?

I suppose I would need some kind of barbed solution?

    Immersion Chiller quick disconnects?

This looks solid, I wish I had the skills or know-how to add the connection directly to the chiller, but a short-run of hose isn't a dealbreaker. Now to find these in my local Lowes.... Cam-locks are also a good option, albeit heavy! @Bobby_M, do you have any insight or suggestions?

    Immersion Chiller quick disconnects?

Looking to make life easier for me, in a leak-free way. I currently use a small immersion chiller that is connected to vinyl hoses with worm clamps, and they suck. I'd like to add quick disconnects, as I brew in an apartment and it's far easier to rinse in the sink and drain it when not in...

    Brewtools B40Pro Questions - Jaded Hydra, 110V vs 220V

I'm no electrician or regulator, so I don't want to speak from any point of authority! I'm just saying the unit can operate on one cable just fine, just with limited wattage. If one element has an issue, it's on a separate circuit. Being that they sell this product (only?) in the US through...

    Brewtools B40Pro Questions - Jaded Hydra, 110V vs 220V

No. One element is powered by one cable, and one element and the controller is powered by a different cable. The controller only regulates power output, but each element has it's own power supply. The fact that they're in the same kettle is probably inconsequential. Just as when I used a...

    Brewtools B40Pro Questions - Jaded Hydra, 110V vs 220V

Fortunately my outlets are able to handle the full power at 16A, however the B40 110v controller allows you to reduce the amperage to 15A or 12A if needed, possibly lower.

    Brewtools B40Pro Questions - Jaded Hydra, 110V vs 220V

The B40 has one cord to power one 1600w element and the controller, and the other cord is strictly to power the other element (with control through the controller). I can assure you there is nothing ghetto about the system.
