I just did an oatmeal stout with an OG of 1.065, I just checked it after 8 days and it is at 1.028. Fermentation was a steady 68-69 degrees. I pitched WLP002 as well. Not sure why this happened as well. With the amount of roastyness it balances out the sweetness, but I had this with the last...
I'm not saying you're lazy. I am just saying that's the main reason why plants are sub irrigated. The best way in my opinion is always to flush the water/nutrients through the substrate let the plant take what it needs and allow the water to drain and the roots be able to breathe again. That SIP...
The only reason people ever sub irrigate is because they are lazy. I run a commercial greenhouse and 90% of what we grow here is sub irrigated. The only reason we do that is because it doesn't make sense to water 1,000,000 plants a year by hand overhead. Plants that are fed from underneath...
There is a guy here who is bringing in his own and starting them from tissue culture to make sure they are virus free. He started an acre at our local college that has a brewing program so he gave some free plants. We'll see how they take.
Stop watering. I agree cut back the bines now. You have to keep the rhizomes happy. You can always check the roots and make sure they are happy. Dark brown/red mean they are gonzo. Pythium can set in really fast with heat and over watering young plants.
This is definitely over watering and no fertilizer. The leaves on top will always go yellow because the nutrients will only stay in the lower pot of the plant. Feed every few days with 150-200ppm nitrogen. When it's too hot plants will shut down and won't use half of the water you give them...
I am having the same problem with my hefe this time around. I have brewed other beer and haven't had this problem. I think it is because I tried to force it too quickly or something. I cold crash for a day and set the co2 to 25-30psi and roll it gently for 10 minutes a day for 2 days. Then...
Just a newbie question, but is it normal to have the last bit of your keg come out extra foamy? The whole keg was good, then I checked how much was left and it was pretty empty, but the beer line is full and it is coming out quite foamy. Thoughts?
Thanks!

That is amazing! It looks like a lot of hard work and time/thought went into that. I decided not to pursue the cupboard fridge and just bought another fridge and put taps in it for now. Thanks or the great idea though!
Cheers!!

If I spray foamed the whole inside of the cabinet like a cooler and made some kind of insulated door I don think that condensation would affect it. The cupboard doors would almost be like dummy doors, I would just need to figure a way to open it from the front and have the door insulated...
I thought about that but I wasn't sure the cost and how much of a pain glycol was. Is it a pain to start running lines for that?

Hey everyone I was just wondering if anyone has ever turned a cubists or cabinet into a kegerator? I don't have room for a kegerator in my kitchen but I have a cupboard not used for much that I was thinking about using. It is deep enough and wide enough for about 4 kegs and a co2 tank. I just...
