    Show us your Kegerator

Got a few things to do to it yet: Add a stout tap, add 2 more handles, run LED lighting around the collar, and bottle opener. I am hopping for enough room for 2 more taps too, it measures out, but tightness is what I am worried about. (It looks crooked but its the back porch, that this summers...

    First Fruit Beer

That much I know, but fermentation is still going to start up again once you move it over to the secondary. That's why I am wondering if it would be advisable to cold crash for a few days to drop more yeast out of suspension.

    First Fruit Beer

I just made a BIAB American Wheat Ale with plans to let it sit in the primary for 10 days and then cold crash it for 3 days at 40 degrees and then transfer it onto 6 lbs of blueberry puree for 10 days. I am at day 9 of 10 for the primary and was doing more searching around the forums and am...

    Controller Diagram Help

Hey P-J, thanks for looking. I wasn't sure if you meant the resolution or just how spaced out I made the diagram. Bellow is a link to a lower resolution image, with a legend.

    Controller Diagram Help

Could someone take a look at this diagram and see if there is any issues for this. I went off of one of P-J's diagrams but made it to work with 3 PID units at 30a 240VAC.

    Controller help

We'll if I only solder 2 wires to be used for each ssr to 1 of the hot wires from the power plug that would only mean 120 at any given time, not 220. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

    Controller help

Alright that's what kinda figured. Question about the hookup wires within the panel. What gauge should they be? I imagine the dc wires can be 18? And the wires running 120 should be 14 or what? Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

    Controller help

Also, wbarber, I was curious if this was close to your setup, I ask cause you made it seem yours was very cheap to do and this seems to be the cheapest way to go.

    Controller help

Why should there be 2 hot buses? Since one hot wire can be soldered into 2 and then each one ran to each ssr

    Controller help

I orginally didn't plan to build my own, seemed a little more complicated at the surface. However after a nights worth of research I decided on building my own. Can anyone tell me if I am missing anything or should consider anything else? Part List: 1 - Nema Enclosure -...

    Controller help

So I am looking into building an auto electric system. I have came across 2 controllers that peak my interest. http://www.theelectricbrewery.com/control-panel http://www.kegglebrewing.com/220-Volt-Herms-Controller_p_420.html Do any of you have experience with either of these or have any...

    Primary got a little warm

I have also heard of people installing and using thermawells and think that would be best. Then I would just set it to 65 during the entire fermenting cycle, right?

    Primary got a little warm

I ask because I'm building a fermenting chamber now out of a chest freezer and space heater

    Primary got a little warm

I know there are tons of threads on this but I thought I'd like to just double check. When you say ferment at 65 you don't mean ambient temp right? So for the first 8 hours have ambient temp at 65 then drop it to 60 and after about 3 days raise it to 63 then after another 3 days or when...

    Primary got a little warm

A Vanilla Porter with Wyeast 1056 American Ale. Would 65 be more appropriate for a porter?

    Primary got a little warm

Hey Guys, I use a fermwrap and Johnson Controls temp controller during the cool months here in Wisconsin. I had everything all set to keep the fermentation chamber between 68 and 70, checked it every day for a week and all was good. I let it be for the second week and when I came back I saw...

    Just built my first Kegerator

Another thing to check is all your gaskets on the keg, if it is used the gaskets may be shot. Also check the pressure relief valve.

    1728 Stuck @ 1.030 after a few weeks

I would pitch more yeast, the same kind. If you didn't make a starter, you never had enough yeast to begin with. Since you are already at 1.030 you won't need a starter to finish it, just pitch the yeast and let it sit for another 2-3 weeks. You don't have to worry about it sitting on the cake...

    Another damn water question

If your water sucks, something worth investing is this bad boy: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Culligan-Under-Sink-Drinking-Water-Filter-System/13074309 I installed it myself and was really easy. It cleaned all the chlorine out. They have 4 different levels of filters that you can buy ranging from...
