    First time starter.... wanting verification.

    I think I got it. 10-1 with DME and water (1g DME for 10 ML water) I used Mrmalty to estamate how big of a starter. Says 4.19 liters. That just seems a little much, maybe not. I am shooting for a SG of 1.077 Does this seem right to you guys? Thanks for the help

    Yes foam again. But a problem I have not yet read about

    This is my second time with this problem. First time was with the Hef and the second time was with a rye IPA. First Half of the keg pours great. As it gets empty the foam gets worse and worse. I have tried purging the Co2 out of the keg, adjusting serving pressures anywhere from 3 to 10...

    Stumped.....not really.

    Frustrated with thermometers.

    I can't get two to read the same. I have on in my boil kettle, one floating and an infrared gun. None read the same. How do I calibrate them? They all read 212 at boil but at lower temps they all over the place by 10 deg or so. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Cold crashing.

    I am starting to get into kegging very slowly. When I do, I cold crash to 34 deg. I keg and carb at that temp with CO2. When bottleing, how cold is too cold when cold crashing when priming with sugar? I'm afraid the yeast will drop out. Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

    Transfer problems

    I was transfuring from primary to secondary. 1/2 way thru I notice my bung leaking. I tighten and made it worse. So I hauled ass, cleaned and sanitized a new bucket. Due to the leak, used the bung with no hose, (large bung) and let it run down the side of the new bucket. I am worried about...

    Help - (yeast ruined?)

    I runied my yeast. Just finishing boil. will I be ok if I put it in fermenter with no yeast and buy more tomorrow and pitch it? do i put it in the fridge? room temp? Am I screwed?

    Extract brewing…..for flavor….

    I am brewing all grain. I have a friend that works for a company that makes flavor extracts. Some are all natural, some are artificial. I have not used them yet, but I have about 12 different flavors. Anyone ever use an extract for flavoring a beer? What are your thoughts?

    Bottle carbonating.....

    Read an article about a German Heff. Instead of using sugar before bottling, ya add some wart that was removed before yeast was pitched. Then add this back in after fermentation before bottling. Never heard that before. Anyone ever do this?
