Hello Fellow Punky Brewsters,
Quick question. How long after I have started a WyEast smack pack is it still good to use? I smacked it last Tuesday, it is fully inflated and has been at room temperature, but I have not been able to brew. How long do I have before it is unusable?
Isn't that about the liquid line, not the line for the tap tower cooler?
By gland I meant the one on the upper right as you look inside, build for the co2 line to pass through. If your's is a fridge you are converting, it may not have that hole....
Hello, I have the chill and tap Danby from Costco. Model #DKC052BSLDB . Anyone know where the temperature probe is? It's running a bit warmer than I would like, want to put the temp probe in some liquid.
I do have problems with foam for sure. I found that the 120mm fan is toooo slow to really push the air very well, so rebuilding the fan box to see if that helps. I'll post the buildout. The project box is really to big to fit well. I grabbed a smaller project box and am switching to an 80mm...
I will indeed post the build! Because SWMBO let me have the keg in the living room, I have the co2 in the kegerator, so I read the wires through a gland where the co2 tube would have gone.
I've been modding my Costco Danby Kegerator. I added a home made tower cooler from a 120mm computer fan with blue LEDs and 1/2 inch tubing in a Radio Shack project box. It took a bucket of KY and a shoe horn, but I fit it in with 2x pin locks and the co2 bottle.
I also switched out the black...
I have a bunch of 2x4s as well and will be building a chamber a lot like yours. My question is, on the floor frame, how did you connect the two boards at the corners? Did you use a metal bracket on the bottom or something? I need to add casters to mine to be able to move it with a back...
Hello All,
I'm going to be building a fermentation chamber this weekend. I'm using a 4 cubic ft fridge. I'm going to build a box off of it to fit 3 carboys. I'm loosely going by these plans: http://www.lewybrewing.com/2011/07/son-of-fermenter-build.html. Using this old standard temp...
I brew outdoors. I bought an RV food grade hose and an RV water filter attached to it with a brass shut off valve. I have a bad back, it beats carrying 5 gallons of water!
I just ordered this kit. With Amazon Prime it ended up ~$1.10 per ball. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IK21AJU/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20
Will report back if anyone is interested.
I just got mine. After I wiped it down it looks great. I got the Costco one with the black tower. I may replace it with a double tap as I have 2 cornies in it. I've not tried shoe horning in a third yet, don't know if it will fit with the c02 bottle inside.
