    Any gun owners here?

Yessir. Sure am. Building the arsenal, have a Keltec p3at as my everyday carry (yes, it conceals in board shorts!) and a Taurus .45 for the house. Also, my absolute favorite, the "Commie," otherwise known as a Mosin Nagant. I neither confirm nor deny that I potentially, hypothetically, or...

    Kahlua Anyone?

Okay well here's my batch: 6c water 4c dark brown sugar 1.75L vodka 8Tbps Bustello instant espresso 1tbs vanilla extract Came out really sweet, almost too much, even though it's about 20% abv. I slip 3-4 icecubes in each glass to water it down. after a bit it really mellows out. Next...

    Kahlua Anyone?

Anyone used instant espresso? I'm thinking a Cafe Bustelo addition would be excellent.

So NorthernBrewer.com doesn't have Crystal 60L, so will Caramel 60L be a good substitute?

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Idea: 2-3 dashes of angostura bitters really adds complexity for those who want a little more in their Apfelwein. Yum! :drunk:

    Man, I love Apfelwein

It's time to bottle my Apfelwein, but I won't be able to make it the my LHBS in time for the bottling session. All I have in the house is Turbinado sugar, which is different than refined table sugar. Can this type still be utilized for bottle carbonation in the same amount, or will the makeup of...

    Out of homebrew... thirsty...

Have no shame whatsoever! PBR is American brewed, and a damn good lager to boot. I love the stuff, both for its refreshing quality and the price. Also, be sure to buy the pack of 16oz cans. It's cheaper in the long run. Use the cash saved for future homebrew ventures.

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Anyone used Martinelli Organic AJ? There's a discount organic grocery nearby that sells 50oz bottles for $1.99, making a 5 gallon batch cost around $25 for juice. I figure that the extra $8 for super high-quality juice will be worth the experiment. I figure that if the juice is better tasting...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

2nd taste test of Apfelwein, straight from the carboy. VERY dry, only slightly reminiscent of apples due to young age, but the apple tones will definitely come forward with time. Post-fermentation specific gravity of .998, making this a very smooth 9.2% ABV. I'll give it another week before I...

    My favorite BMC moment.

This happened all the time at the bar I worked at. Anytime we'd run out of one any of the BMC-esque beers we'd just put whatever other BMC beer we had on that tap to prevent people from flipping out over not having "their" beer. No one ever noticed, even when the Bud tap had Coors/Miller lite...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

I couldn't wait any longer, so last night I took a hydro reading and a sample. It appeared that fermentation was complete, as bubbles were/are few and far between. According to my hydro with temp conversion, I'm at .999 from an OG of 1.065. Taste-wise, it's obviously very young, but...
