    :cross:good advice. switched pilsner extract with maris otter extract and left it in primary for 6 weeks then strait to bottles. loved every drop.also put a heating blanking around the carboy during the 6 weeks.

    Slow start

    had this same issue with wyeast 3787 trappist high gravity . 2 days no activity. on the third day while driving to work I get a call from my wife saying " hey that thingy just popped off the top of you're fermenter and know there is foam every where". Maybe that yeast just starts off slow.

    wow! thanx for all the feedback. money is not an issue. I make more than the average income. In reading your comments I think the bigger issue is the time that I put into my beers.

    Onions?

    Dude! I too would love to have an onion beer. I just brewed a batch of beer and I'm going to try adding some onion extract to a couple of bottles directly during bottling.

    can you add adjuncts to single bottels

    just tried your tip and it completely killed the head retention. I have heard of onion beer before. I just cant find any recipes or tips. I'll probably go ahead try adding it direct to a few small bottles may grilling the onions first might help.

    I've been wanting to try adding onion to my home brew but didn't really want to sacrifice an entire batch. Is it possible to add onion juice to separate bottles or will this effect carbonation.
