Need help fixing a beer with very low FG

Ha, my bad, it's less than 1.010 not greater than. I decided to do a little bit of all of the above. I'm still going to do a .5 gallon batch that's DME, but I'm going to hop it to try to save the hop profile. I'm essentially making a really small super high OG version of the same beer...

Need help fixing a beer with very low FG

Hey guys - It finally happened...I finally brewed a BAD batch of beer. :( Tried to squeeze in a brew day with the kids running around and not enough time. Also tried a BIAB 'sparge' method that was completely unsuccessful. I forgot to take a pre-boil gravity reading and the OG post-boil was...

Sam Adams Utopias clone - Calling all big beer experts! Paulthenurse and yeager1977

Yeah, being such a limited release it's hard to find reliable tasting notes on KMF too, in my experience, but I haven't checked in a while. I don't recall if I mentioned it in my write-up, but I did add Tetavis, I think 4 750ml bottles, to the primary after fermentation slowed and I added the...

First force carbonation, do I have enough CO2?

That's helpful thanks. I don't know why I didn't think about doing the math out like that.

And be there for brew day! Someone has to keep an eye on the pot while I'm drinking a beer. I'm pretty sure the ATF has bigger concerns than a couple of homebrewers going halvsies on the grain bill of a 5 gallon batch...or in the case of Euphoria a 3G batch. In any event, the selling it was a...

The mild was strictly a starter that also happened to be quite tasty to drink. Bonus. That's why I went through the effort of hopping it. Plus, the idea was that it was a lower OG version of the full batch so it would give SOME indication of the full beer's flavor...but not even close, so...

It's not missed if it is. You can smell it from a mile away... It's a really exciting project, loads of fun - presuming you find brew day fun, but also a lot of work. I suspended all other brewing for about two months so I could devote all my brewing time to babying this thing. End result...

First force carbonation, do I have enough CO2?

I was planning to use the, nearly full, can of MicroMatic Pump & Probe lube that came with it presuming it's the same as Keg lube. Is that a correct assumption or should I go get some keg lube before kegging day?

First force carbonation, do I have enough CO2?

No. I bought the setup used from a friend. He didn't know how much was left at the time as he'd served a bunch of commercial kegs (not a homebrewer) since filling the tank. He knew there was at least enough for a few more kegs, so I served the one commercial keg and then weighed it to see...

First force carbonation, do I have enough CO2?

Also, seems like the general consensus here seems to be about 1.5 kegs, being conservative with about 7 kegs per 5lb tank, carbed and served per pound? Not 1lb per keg just to carbonate? So with 1.7lbs left I should, in theory, be able to get about 2.4 kegs carbed and served. So sounds like I...

First force carbonation, do I have enough CO2?

Thanks guys, so I guess the other question is if I go ahead and work with what I've got until it's gone...I've been reading about how if the pressure in the keg is greater than that coming through the regulator it will reverse and beer will go back up to the regulator. So, if I don't notice the...

First force carbonation, do I have enough CO2?

Hey guys, I recently bought a kegerator. I bought a keg to celebrate and kicked it. Now I converted it for homebrew (ball lock, not that it should matter) and I just brewed the first beer that will go on it tonight. Here's the question. I had no idea how much CO2 I had. I weighted...

Fortunately, this brew is not getting carbonated. So I went for it.

I think next time I might shoot for 30% abv. See how far I can push the envelope. This round was only (ha, only) supposed to be 23.8% abv, then after a fast start to fermenting followed by a steady drop on the hydrometer it looked like it was going to stop around 26% (1.010FG) and then during...

Sam Adams Utopias clone - Calling all big beer experts! Paulthenurse and yeager1977

It was a recommendation from PaulTheNurse. The owner of my LHBS seconded the recommendation. Much like in wine, it stabilizes the flavor and prevents oxidation. The oxidation was the big concern during the racking, though unlikely. In the log run, these are excellent cellar candidates so it...

OG 1.212 to a FG of 1.000, rounded up to 28% ABV on the labels. I've never had Utopias, but my brother has. His big complaint about mine is that Utopias is thick like syrup and mine, obviously given the FG, is not. Drinks easy and it's smooth, though. A connection in that I probably read...

FINALLY DONE! Two racks, one from primary to secondary for aging and one for bottling. KMeta in both. Flavor is great. It'll be a really nice sipping/after dinner drink. A little more oak than I'd intended, even still, but overall very good. Some slight funk, plumbs and dark fruit...

So the beer has been sitting for quite some time. It's really quite tasty, crystal clear, nice deep color. A little too much oak flavor, but it's right on the line of just right and too much. I might cut it with another bottle or two of Sam Adams Tetravis which was mixed in previously in the...

Sorry guys, been crazy busy. Tasted the beer before I left and it was pushing too much oak so I pulled it. After getting back last weekend I tasted it and the flavors are blending together more, but oak is still very prevalent. It's very nice, very complex. Plums, figs, malts, cloves...

It's been a while, so just a quick update. Added the oak around the 1st of the month. It's been sitting ever since. Tasted last week and it was starting to blend, but still needed some time. Tasted again today and the flavor is great. A lot of the sweetness that was present last week (still...
