    Isopropyl alcohol in airlock

I really doubt the isopropyl got into your beer. With all that force pushing out, how could it? Look into blowoff tube for future vigorous fermentations.

Brewers Best California Imperial Pale Ale

Extract brews are pretty hard for the human to screw up. I would imagine a much bigger variation of taste coming from yeast, temps, time in primary, etc. There are lots of variables, few of which brewers can easily control. Boiling a wort at a specific gravity and adding hops at the...

    Just add cold water?

When doing all grain and full boils, you dont have the option to add water to cool, hence AG brewers use chillers.

    First brew - status

You are tasting a lot of yeast at this point. Thats what it makes it cloudy. The yeast is still working slowly, let them do their thing. It is a good learning step to taste along the way, it will change dramatically along the ride.

    Flanders Red - Dulle Griet

I just bottled a *very* sour batch of brew that I asked you about 18 months ago, and figured I would dig this thread up from the dead and see how yours was turning out. Mine tastes very cleanly sour, not much funk noticeable. FG was 1.016, which seems high to me, but it had nice body to...

American Strong Ale Arrogant Bastard clone

It will dry it out a bit, but with 1.5lb of c120, i wouldnt think it would hurt to dry it out a bit.

First DIPA Recipe - How does it look?

What temp did you mash at? I use .5 lb carapils in my DIPA, but I also cut the crystal to .25 lb. I mash at 150 or so, and like it dry. I also don't like the carmel-y sweet flavor from too much crystal.

    Amber w/ Citra hops

It is fantastic. It needed some time to age, but I do not get any hot alcahol flavor at all.

Is your beer more like Bud Light or Miller Lite?

Heh... Neither. Mine does not give me a headache (bud*), and it has flavor (unlike miller lite). I just had my windows replaced. The crew did not like my homebrew. Maybe pale Ale was the wrong thing to offer?

    Dogfish head-ish 75 minute IPA

Wow, yeah... I think I might have one left :). It turned out really well, although I am not sold on the whole continual hopping thing. It did take a while to carb up, but it was a big hit with fellow hopheads. The grainbill will turn out something closer to a 90 minute, so if you want to...

    Dropped something

not if it was sanitized. I would be more worried about open fermentation than a sanitized spoon.
