Autumn Seasonal Beer Thunderstruck Pumpkin Ale (AG and Extract versions)

Made this again last night. Did an 10 gallon all grain batch. made a few adjustments. Added brown sugar(which I hope bumps up my ABV), along with a bunch of spices. Hopfully it turns out better then my first batch(which tasted great, just seemed a little light) Brian

Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Chocolate Oatmeal Porter

I'm not too concerned about the Eff. Just wondering why the total grains of 13 LB 5 OZ doesn't match all the grains you posted? You list only totals to 12 LB 13 OZ. Hope this makes sense? I just want to make sure something didn't get included before I attempt this :)

CHEAP reverse flow wort cooler. works AWESOME!

I just used some star-san to sanitize. I'll have to check the temp, but Chicago tap water is COLD. I would guess in the 55* range.

CHEAP reverse flow wort cooler. works AWESOME!

A friend and I are slowly setting up a nice eHERMS setup. So we setup a keggle to use for now and needed a wort chiller. There are a bunch of how-to's on here, but figured I'd post mine with results. I used the cheapest garden hose I could find at home depot. 25'- $15. The "how to" I read...

Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Chocolate Oatmeal Porter

Add everything to Beersmith, and the OG comes up short. Give a quick look over to your recipe and notice you post that the grain total is 13.lb, 5 oz. Well the recipe you listed only totals to 12lb, 81 oz? any chance of you uploading your BS profile to the org post? Thanks, Brian

First all grain BIAB - Low OG - should I add DME?

Do you just add DME strait to the pal or do you boil and add?

First all grain BIAB - Low OG - should I add DME?

So we did our first All Grain today in our new keggle. Brewed two different beers that had a target of 1.065. Both of them only went to 1.045. Should I just leave it be or add like a pound of DME to each 5 gallon bucket? Thanks, Brian

    Anyone in Chicago that TIGs?

I ordered some flux cored SS wire for my MIG, but it won't be here for a week. Some buddies and I were hoping to brew in my new keggle this weekend. Is there anyone on here that can weld 2 couples into a keggle for me? I'm on the NW side of Chicago. Thanks, Brian

    Gravity too high?

So I made my first batch ever this Sunday. I used 1318 London ale smack pack. Made it with a starter. Boiled with 3 gallons of water and added 3 once it was all in the carboy. Ended up pouring a little out so there would be some head room. Before adding the water, I was at 2.5. When I finished...
