Thanks Tiber. Is there a reason you use floor malted pils in your kolsh, and just standard German pils malt in your German pils? Does it bring something special to the Kolsch?

I just brewed this one up last night. I used belgian pils, as I buy it in bulk and had it on hand. I'm hoping it won't differ much from what is intended for the recipe. I also ramped from 131 to 149 in 15 min instead of 25, as I was afraid of degrading proteins in a fully modified (belgian)...

Looks like a solid recipe! I'll be brewing this up Wednesday night along with a Vienna lager. I also wouldn't mind help putting together a nice Czech pils recipe. Sounds like you know what you're doing!

How did this turn out, Te-wa? I'm not so concerned about the malt and hops as I am the method of getting the grapefruit flavor. Would you say you got a similar grapefruit character to the sculpin?

BTW, I apologize for taking so long to get the yeast krausen capture pics up. I've had to step back from our larger capture method using stainless tri-clamp micro-industrial hardware to a pyrex version so the process can be photographed. I have the new glassware and will set this up for pics...

Are you talking 200cc of yeast slurry, or a small starter? Also, is that for a primary ferment with the blend, no other yeast added?
