    It is time to clean our Maibaum (May Pole or translated, May Tree) for the May Day and Maibock celebration. Different towns may have different themes. Here are a few pics of May Poles. Ours will be up on May 1st as tradition calls for.

    Today I cleand all the beer lines, updated the RFID tag, replaced the carbon filters, and put the 2024 Maibock on tap for our Mayday celibration.

    What a terrible way to start the night drinking. This is a fruit juice to attract bugs, missing the Tequila. Too bad it's too far to walk to the home brewery late in the night to get a beer.

    Oak in lager/pilsner?

    I must correct you, he had an oaked golden or pale lager, not a German Pils. All classical Pils characters are gone during the barrel aging.

    I transferred a German-style Helles from the maturation tank into a dispensing tank.

    During the work break, I turned one of my old 10-cent homebrew beers into a $1.50 Stachelbier.

    What I did for beer today

    I transfered our Maibock and Nürnberger Rotbier from maturation tanks to the dipensing tanks. All data about the beers are stored on the computer and RFID blue tags.

    I am working late tonight, it's 10:30 PM and I am replacing a defective warning LED light.

    Thanks. If you brewed the original Weihenstephan Helles, called in the US Original Premium the recipe should call for one type of hops and grain. The newer Weihenstephan Helles uses three kinds of hops and a single malt. The original is decoction mashed and the newer Helles is step-mashed.
