    2014 Hop garden photo thread

Not sure if it was breakage or insects, but I've lost 3 6' bines off one of my Willamette crowns. A couple other bines in the patch appear to be dead as well, so I'm suspecting insects. Thankfully it hasn't been the really healthy plants, and there are other bines waiting to take over from the...

    2014 Hop garden photo thread

Last year I planted rhizomes May 1. This year I had 12" bines by April 5. Strings are up on the hop tower. 8 first year plants yielded ~2.5lbs with only some homemade compost. hops and dogs

My dog is 1/4 lab and has already uprooted 3 newly sprouted rhizomes this spring. Thankfully she didn't think they were sticks or she would have eaten them. I replanted and I think they're ok. There is chicken wire going around my trellis now, so that's the end of that. I doubt she would try to...

    2013 Hop garden photo thread

I might have done this differently if I had researched more before hand, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out in the end. It is about 11' square and the posts are 20' tall. It was moved into place last night over top of two of my raised beds. I've got 2 each Magnum, Centennial, Cascade...
