    Shipping a Corney can...

We ship through Fed Ex at work so I can get the "corporate" discount there... Problem is.. It's against company policy to bring alcoholic beverages on the property. I was thinking it's going to be more like 50 lbs... I told the guys that SOMEBODY may need to "rent" a CO2 tank from a welding...

The gap is supposed to be .039" from the factory and looked a little large, but according to my feeler gauges it's about .032". Yeah... My eyes aren't what they used to be. Should I open it up a bit? Or just run with it...

How is all grain cheaper when...

I pay $1.25 a Lb at my LHBS.... Free milling and since I pretty much serve myself I get 10% off as well. When I buy my 50 Lb bags of base malt I get help, but I get a bag for about $40. I mill it all up at once while I'm there. I brew pretty much every Saturday so I'm never real concerned...

Holy crapper but that S-04 works fast...

I brewed 2 batches last Sat. On of the Yoopper ale and the other was my normal Porter. When I was buying the stuff I was just going to use the S-05 for both batches, but my LHBS didn't have S-05. So I figured I would just use Nottingham for the Yoop, and try S-04 for the porter. My OG on the...

    Who uses a funnel screen?

I use a big grain bag to line my funnel when pouring the chilled wort into the glass fermenter. When one part gets cloged I just shift it around to another part. When I'm going to use the bucket fermenter I just use hop bags and dunk them up and down and squeese them out every 5 minutes or...

    Bugs in your wort??

I've seen it before where bees are attracted to the sweet smell and as soon as the get over the boil kettle they drop like a rock... I tried picking them out to no avail... I have counted as many a 11 bee carcases in my strainer after cool down. During cool down I leave my lid on my...

    Help! Need to chill wort!

When I first started brewing I bought a "Rope Tub" from Walmart for, like 6 bucks. When it came time to cool the wort I would just fill it half way up with water and ice and float my boil kettle in it 'till my wort got cool enough to pitch. Then I transfered into my fermenter and pitched...

    Brewing while "camping"....

I'm not talking about tent camping here... We've been RVing in our second home for over 7 years now... The house stays the same, the only thing that changes is the lawn. And the only reason the lawn changes is because we move it.
