    Where in the H-E- double L is one to find fresh cider in phoenix, AZ???

    I'm afraid that there may be a shortage of fresh juice here in the valley. I can't find any orchards that press juice, and the only other option is to grow your own, but that takes 3 YEARS TO FIRST HARVEST! Any other sun devils know where to get some fresh juice? Thanks all, Thirsty...

    How to go about making a rum-flavored mead?

    Hello all! I have no experience with mead. however, I want to make one soon. from what I understand, by using different sugars we can influence the taste of mead. how would I go about making a mead with a strong dark rum flavour? any help would be much appreciated. Cheers! :mug:

    is my cider/perry combo infected?

    This is a cider that I added a can of pear halves to. I used nottingham yeast. the stuff on top looks almost like yeast, its bubbling and nothing smells off, and i felt it and it feels like yeast.

    My crazy idea.

    I was just goofing around when i came up with this idea. what if you made a watertight picture frame, with a tap and airlock. you'd even be able to see all the yeast working. in my picture I didn't label this, but there will be hidden head-space at the top behind the frame. same at the bottom...

    Drying yeast cake

    Is there a way to preserve the yeast cake after brewing by drying it or something? the reason I ask this is if i made a cider using wild yeast off the skin of an apple and it made an incredible flavor would i be able to dry it and keep in an airtight container? thanks. Thirsty out.
