Yeah you are right. I forgot to divide the ID by 2. Not so bad for 6ft. There are a couple of other things to consider. One is the CO2 waste if it's not a concern for water waste because of a city water supply. The other is the frequency of use. Once used, it will take some amount of time...

With 1/4" ID line, waste would be 1.3 oz per foot. 6 ft = 7.8 oz 10 ft = 13 oz 20 ft = 26 oz For my setup that uses bottled water, no waste is acceptable.

Yes absolutely, and would be the better way to go. 4 to 6 feet is way shorter than I was guessing for you but if you can do the mini fridge, it will still be better.

You don't want to do what you have planned. The water in the line from the fridge in the basement to the faucet above in the kitchen will get warm. When you open the faucet, the water coming out will not only be warm but it will be flat until the cold water reaches the faucet. Every time you...

I can't recall where I bought it but this is the one I have: http://www.plastic-mart.com/product/2463/6-gallon-rectangle-flat-bottom-tank-sp0006-5n

I think so. Sitting all night at 90 should be more than enough. If it is cold and it stays cold all the way to the valve, then I don't see anything else it could be except your valve. If you like it on the bubbly side you could up your pressure to 110. If you can somehow submerge your...

You made me just go check mine. Identical on the outside to a pc plug but different on the inside. It has round pins and the PC plugs have flat. You are correct.

It is a PC power plug.

McCann carbonator - new loud noise

No, I'm not at all wanting to put the motor in the fridge. I don't think that would be a good idea either. Carbonators are designed to be put in out-the-way places and it has to be common that those places are on the warm side in the summer. If this recurs, then it is just a matter of...

Well done. Very good find. I think it should work but I'd plug the syrup input line. $60 price is excellent.

McCann carbonator - new loud noise

Thanks. My guess is that you are right. At this point, I think I will check it again in a few months to see if the filter is collecting any more of the slime. If it is, I will then consider disinfecting the system. This is something I thought I wouldn't have to worry about since all the stored...

I think the hose I used would be hard to beat. The 3/8" tubing is rated at 300 psi. Here's a link to the info on this tubing: http://kuriyama.thomasnet.com/asset/Accuflex-Bevlex-Plus-180-Hose-Technical-Data-Sheet--40710GK.pdf I bought a 100 ft reel of it along with some 15.7 mm ear clamps...

Just saw they have this one that is plastic. Still not cheap but half the cost. I think it would work but I'd call and verify it. http://www.kegman.net/products/Becker-Plastic-Wall-Mount-Pre-Mix-Plastic-Faucet-%252d-5453.html

I know they are a lot of money but there's probably good reason for it since they're designed to do exactly what you need it to do and are having trouble finding. This is what I have and the place I got it from. Gone up a little in price though...

McCann carbonator - new loud noise

No reason not to. It's simple. The hardest part for me was to power it down and de-pressurize everything first. It's good to have a round bristle brush to clean inside the screen filter. I had one the perfect size for it. You will see once you get it out.

I figured you would have already done it if you had wanted it. I thought it would might add kind of a cool custom factor but that's a just a personal tidbit. Btw, when drilling my fridge holes, I didn't do it blindly. I carefully cut through the plastic liner with an exacto knife and then...

Nice Job Taz. That looks just great. Glad it is working well for you too. One question though. Have you thought about putting a hole in the side of the fridge for the Wunderbar hose to come through? You would put a some type of rubber seal on it to where it would hold it snugly but allow...

McCann carbonator - new loud noise

Looks like I got it fixed. It was the filter. It was completely plugged with a very thiick milky goo. Not sure whether it was a bacteria or some sludge of some kind that came from a component. I bought this carbonator 3 1/2 years ago advertised as used but almost new. They said it was...
