Quick question - has anybody here dry hopped with the Tap a Draft system? I was thinking of throwing some hop pellets into the bottles before capping 'em... is it possible, or will it gum up the tap system when i tap it? thanks

    Radioactive Beer Kegs

Is this why my corny is glowing? :cross: Bloomberg.com: Exclusive "There may be more than 1 million missing radioactive sources worldwide, the Vienna-based IAEA estimates. De Bruin said he sometimes finds such items hidden inside beer kegs and lead pipes to prevent detection."

Wash your yeast with Star San?

I've been reading "BEER: Tapping into the Art and Science of Brewing" by Charles Bamforth (great read, by the way - lots of technical scientific stuff for us brew-nerds) He has this to say about washing and storing yeast (on page 151): "The yeast may also have picked up some contaminants...

    Montrachet Temp Experiment

After bottling a batch of Apfelwein at 1.004 (knowing it had at least 4 or 5 more points to drop), I suddenly realized that it would be nice to know whether fridge temps would stop montrachet yeast from fermenting. I placed a bottle in my fridge immediately after bottling, and let the rest...

    E-Mail from Wyeast about 3787

Started a new thread, because the old one kinda dropped off, and this is probably useful for a lot of us here on the forums... I e-mailed Wyeast asking about the High Gravity Trappist 3787 strain - here is the original e-mail: Greetings! There has been some discussion on the Homebrewtalk.com...

    Too much priming sugar?

and I ask for help/advice once again... this new hobby certainly is a learning experience. bottled yesterday, added 3/4 cup of corn sugar to 2 cups of water, boiled and added to the beer, then realized that with this first batch, I've actually only got a little under 4 gallons of beer...

    Bottling directly from primary

Because I had the brilliant idea of using my bottling bucket as a primary for another batch, I now need to bottle a batch directly from a glass carboy. I just need some of you wise brewers to go over my procedure to make sure this will work well... everything sanitized, of course... 1...
