    Adding body after fermentation

I'm in the same boat so someone please help! Brewed an all grain version of northern brewers smashing pumpkin (my first all grain) and totally screwed it up. Mashed too low, stuck sparge even with rice hulls, and added too much top up water as a result. Completely fubared this one. Anyway...

Screwed myself and need to quick carb. Please help!

Thanks man I appreciate it I'll definitely bump it up since I always seem to lose a little carb when bottling anyway. I'll try refrigerating the bottles too which I always forget to do. I've never had to big a problems without it but I'm definitely gonna do it this time being that the beer...

Screwed myself and need to quick carb. Please help!

Well I did it and it only took 10 minutes. I'm assuming the fact I had the beer chilled to 37 degrees helped and the fact it sat at 35 psi overnight, abeit without active gas hooked up, so maybe some co2 dissolved into solution. That said I'm shocked. It worked like a charm. It went from...

Screwed myself and need to quick carb. Please help!

Great thanks guys! I'm gonna go do that now and then dial it back to serving pressure and let it sit overnight to settle. Hopefully that'll get it where it needs to be.

Screwed myself and need to quick carb. Please help!

Awesome man thanks so much! Should I hook up the gas through the dip tube or does it matter?

Screwed myself and need to quick carb. Please help!

Ok so my usual method of carbing is 30-35 psi for 36 hours and have never had a problem. Anyway I've got a rye stout I was planning to have carbed by tomorrow morning and bottle a couple off for going back home for Thanksgiving. Well I screwed up and forgot to hit the gas valve on so the...

    American wheat/ Will this work?

Well I just downloaded beersmith and ran this recipe through it. Everything showed to be in line with an American wheat with the exception of the color which was 7.5 SRM so slightly darker than what it should be due to the extract which I can live with. The IBU's were a little on the...

    American wheat/ Will this work?

Yeah unfortunately that's all I have. I was thinking the goldings for 60 min. and then the cascade for 15 min. like you said but would that be to many IBU's? According to the calculator I'm using with a 3.5 gallon boil that'd put it at 27.83 IBU's. Is that to much for an American wheat...

    Snake River Pako's IPA?

Totally subscribed to this. Went to snake river brewery last October and hammered some Paco's. It was awesome! I'm just now getting set up for all grain after bout 2 years of extract and I think I'll make this my first venture into AG. Thanks and I hope it turns out fantastic!

    American wheat/ Will this work?

So was gonna make a Belgian wit but have decided to flip my recipe on its ear and make an american wheat and wanted to see what you guys think. Here's what I've got: 6.3 lbs. Liquid wheat malt extract (65/35) 0.5 lb. Crystal malt (10L) 0.5 lb. Torrefied wheat 0.5 lb. Rahr white wheat...

    Grassy/weird aroma in Black IPA

Thanks for all the responses everybody. Since I just added a fresh ounce of cascade hops yesterday I'm gonna prob let it sit til Sunday and then go ahead and bottle it off. Now just gotta figure out where I'm gonna put two cases of bottled beer. Looks like I'll be drinking a lot over...

    Grassy/weird aroma in Black IPA

Yeah this is my first time dry hopping and I thought it'd be cool to do it in the keg. Everything I read said dry hopping cold in the keg took longer than at room temperature and that two weeks usually worked. A lot of guys were saying that typically 3-4 weeks was fine too which is what I...

    Grassy/weird aroma in Black IPA

Only 12 days so far all in the keg in the kegerator at around 36-38 degrees with the first day prob in the 40's since it wasn't cold when I put it in. No it's still on the hops for now at least.

    Grassy/weird aroma in Black IPA

I tasted it too and it tasted fine just the aroma was off. Like I said it wasn't horrible but faintly noticeable. I went ahead and threw the other ounce of hops in there since I had already opened the bag so I guess we'll see. If it gets any worse then I'll probably go ahead and bottle...

What came in the mail for you today?

New better bottle with spigot, 3 ounces of assorted hops, crystal and wheat malt, wheat malt extract, coriander, torrified wheat, and Belgian wyeast. All I'm waiting on now is my orange blossom honey and the right time to zest some oranges and then Witbier here I come! :rockin:

    Grassy/weird aroma in Black IPA

So I've got a black IPA I've had on tap for 12 days that seems to be developing an off aroma. I dry hopped in the keg (cold with exception of 1st half day as it was cooling to serving temps) with 1 ounce of cascade whole leaf hops when kegging and even as little as 3 days ago it smelled...

    Critique my Witbier recipe. Please!

Gotta bump this as I'm brewing this week and would like to get everything nailed down. Thanks for any and all replies!

    Critique my Witbier recipe. Please!

Thanks for all the responses. So I think I'm gonna replace the Torrified wheat with flaked wheat and do a minimash with all the grains doing one batch a piece with the different yeasts. I was gonna add about a pound of table sugar at flame out to raise the ABV a little. Is that ok? Will...
