    Brewniture Build

In order to minimize floor space, one of the first things I did was design the stand to allow the kettles to store underneath. The shields that came with my 10" banjo burners were too tall, so I built a leaf brake and bent custom shields.

We were renting at the time, so I wanted to make the most of the floor space the brew stand would take up in case we rented a place without a garage and it needed to be stored indoors. Basically I wanted it to double as furniture. Brewniture, if you will. Here's the the pieces after being cut:

A little over a year ago I decided to learn how to weld. I can't really remember why i chose to learn how to weld instead of, say, learning to play the harmonica, but i do remember thinking that welding would be a good skill to have during the zombie apocalypse. So I picked up a welder, some...

Show us your sculpture or brew rig

Thanks! Originally my plan was to use the butcher block as a removable top for it (results below) but I got so many complements on it that I decided to turn it into a standalone piece.

Sure, that's definitely possible. Since i use identical burners for my HLT, MLT, and BK, I only need to adjust the regulator once, and when the flame is dialed in on one burner, it's dialed on all 3 and rarely needs adjustment. In your case, getting all three burners dialed in is going to take...

Here's my 20 gallon brew rig. I decided to build it for two reasons 1) I like beer; 2) I wanted to learn how to weld. It wasn't the first thing I built - a workbench, compressor stand, and welding cart came first - but it was my first real project. The butcher block table in the first picture...

4 tools you can't live without

Hell yeah. I'm looking forward to the day that I can say that these are my most useful tools.

4 tools you can't live without

Given your current setup, what are the 4 tools (excluding stuff like wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.) that you find yourself using the most when DIYing homebrew stuff? Here's mine: Horizontal/vertical bandsaw - I bought a JET 5x6 bandsaw on a whim during PFD season (Google Alaska Permanent Fund...

Dremel Owners - corded vs cordless

Seconded - great analogy. I have both a die grinder and a Dremel and they're different tools for completely different jobs. That said, I find myself using the Dremel far, far more frequently than the die grinder or just about any other tool in my shop. The bits that I use most: Flex shaft...

Awesome real names (Not funny ones)

James Bondsteel. This has got to be the apex of awesome names. And the best part? James Bondsteel didn't grow up to become a podiatrist or plumber with an awesome sounding name. Nope, in 1965 James Bondsteel did exactly what you'd expect a fictional character with that name to do - enlisted...
