Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

You are correct. When we put the I2C LED code in I had to shorten some strings (16 characters as I remember) to get the code to fit. I also added the screen reset on timer. Other than that, the code is unmolested. It sounds like a floating point conversion error that may be due to an update...

I've found EC-1118 to be "indelicate." I'm sure the process I listed can be used for other yeasts. It's the yeast volume + the air bubbler that really seemed to make the difference. I have a box just for "Skeeter Pee Stuff."

BrewPi Remix – What’s Old is New Again

The "cool" solenoid is either the pump or a valve. The glycol system should have its own thermostat.

BrewPi Remix – What’s Old is New Again

I’ve read where people have done that. I have enough projects right now. :) What’s weird to me is you had a nice ramp down and then had issues after you reset your chiller. While what Dave shared is a concern for most people, not you though. You can safely reduce that differential since you...

This is why I developed a deterministic method for success. While the recipe that served as inspiration was good, people did have issues. For instance the Montrachet yeast made a horrible sulfur smell because the yeast are under stress. In this thread I shared what worked for me. Post 20 is...

BrewPi Remix – What’s Old is New Again

There’s no compressor delay in glycol either. If you have a heater in there, I would definitely turn it off if you are cold crashing and it’s not sitting in your garage in 0° weather. I don’t own a glycol system, I stole the settings from brewpiless. If somebody wants to buy me a glycol, I’d be...

BrewPi Remix – What’s Old is New Again

Well, there’s no PID gain in the Glycol controller firmware, so I’m going to flat out guess that the glycol needs to be colder (since it worked up to a point). I’d crank it down a bit and see what happens.

Acidity is the hallmark of lemonade. You cut that with sugar. The reason I use two or even three packs of dry yeast is because I understand the yeast will not reproduce, but will still do their job. I understand that you may not have what we have in the US, some critical review is necessary. I...

The first time you make something, you should follow the original recipe so if you have questions we have a reference. Glad it’s getting better.

What kind of volume were you cooling compared to what you intend to cool?

What yeast, how did you prep, etc? Yeast is the number one determination of success here. That high acid, as well as sorbates in the juice, make it challenging.

Did you back-sweeten? Forget to strain the skeeters out?

    Brew Bubbles: Web-Enabled Airlock

That's good to hear. I don't have a setup I can use here, so I was going the route of a simulator, and that was all sorts of messed up. Sounds like a setup issue of some sort, then.

    Brew Bubbles: Web-Enabled Airlock

Yep, this is bigger than a breadbox, unfortunately. Not just Brewfather, but there are a lot of other lib changes that make me sad.

    Brew Bubbles: Web-Enabled Airlock

Well, I checked, and Brewfather removed the original API. Like, removed. Old: PATCH to https://api.brewfather.app/v1/batches/:id New: PATCH to https://api.brewfather.app/v2/batches/:id Theoretically, I could change the URL, issue, and update, and let you test. I suspect, in practice, I will...

Keg Cop: Keg Monitoring and Control

Yes, that's for a 2-Ch relay. Some fit better than others. On a couple I was only able to get one screw in. That's fine. Chinese and standards do not seem to cross paths.

No idea, honestly. I think anything that goes in the beverage will get somewhat subdued by natural processes. If you want "a fresh" aroma, save those lemons for garnish when you serve it. Another favorite of mine is a Luxardo cherry ... yum!

Oh well, that's better. I hope it's not smelling up the house!
