    Jackie O's Hibernator Clone

I absolutely loved this beer awhile back and wanted to make something similar. Unfortunately the brewery wasn't too helpful when I contacted them, but it's at least a start. "Thanks for the email.*The key to any good brown ale is lots of Munich, a combination of caramel malts, biscuit/special...

I want a new type of ipa

If you want to boost citrus or fruit flavors, go with Conan yeast. It will blow your mind.

I want a new type of ipa

I always do Maris otter, cane sugar, and flaked oats for my ipa's. I've used galena+belma+meridian, motueka+azacca+mandarina Bavaria, and el dorado+topaz+pacifica. All turned out great. I'm hoping to do topaz+summit+wai-iti next.

    Double IPA Sunny D IPA

Farmhouse brewing supply has some still, though they are from 2014.

    Mandarina Bavaria

Mostly this. I was just chiming in since I didn't find too many good first hand experiences on mandarina Bavaria before I used it. I'll keep everyone posted on how it turns out.

    m00ps inspired IPA

Minor suggestion - split the flameout addition and make it either 6/2 or 4/4, adding some at 180°F for a whirlpool.

Citra / Maris Otter SMASH Pale Ale - No Bittering Addition

Just came here to confirm similar results. I've made multiple ipa's without a bittering addition, and 2 with no hops until flameout. All of these beers were fantastic, including to anti-hopheads.

    Mandarina Bavaria

I made this recipe a few weeks back. Smells and tastes amazing out of the fermenter. Mostly intense orange. I'll be kegging it Thursday. 12 lb Maris Otter 1 lb Flaked Oats 1 lb Cane Sugar 0.5 oz Columbus (FWH) 1 oz Azacca / 1 oz Mandarina Bavaria / 1 oz Motueka (flame out) 2 oz Azacca / 2 oz...

Thinking of trying a kiwi wheat

I believe it is. It prevents yeast reproduction, but it will decompose over 24 hours. This will allow the fresh pitched yeast to still reproduce and ferment normally.

Thinking of trying a kiwi wheat

I made a strawberry kiwi cider about 6 months ago. I forget how many strawberries I used, but I think I used 1 lb of kiwis. I skinned the kiwis, and sliced them up with the strawberries. I added potassium metabisulfite and let it sit for a day. Then I racked the cider onto it. It came out fairly...

    Double IPA Sunny D IPA

Sounds good to me. This probably will be the first recipe I copy 100%. Great work breaking traditional rules of brewing.

    Double IPA Sunny D IPA

I had a beer I fermented from ~1.084 to ~1.008 with Irish ale yeast due to high cane sugar and low mash temp. Then added 3711 to get it to 1.003. It's all saison yeast flavor. Does Conan and the absurd amount of hops truly cover up some of the saison yeast flavors?

    Jaryllo/Motueka/El Dorado IPA

Well, I have 2 oz of el dorado and motueka, but 4 oz of jaryllo. I could adjust el dorado down and up to double the jaryllo. I have also read jaryllo is not an IPA hop. However, I used galena as a late hop and it turned out well. I'll try this anyway, for science!

    Jaryllo/Motueka/El Dorado IPA

I'm planning to make an IPA with jaryllo, el dorado, and motueka. I have a fairly good malt bill I've used several times for IPA's, landing me around an OG of 1.090. My current schedule is as follows: 65 IBU bittering - whatever is on hand, probably Columbus 1 oz each of jaryllo, el dorado, and...

    Robust Porter dry hop recommendation?

Madtree Identity Crisis is a hoppy porter and is dry hopped with amarillo and simcoe. The full recipe is on their website if you want it.

How many gallons of homebrew in 2015?

23710 +5 IPA +5 Hefeweizen +5 Almond Vanilla Oatmeal Cream Ale +5 Strawberry Kiwi Cider +5 Saison with Irish and French yeasts +5 Irish Red Lager +5 Chai Cider +5 Brown Porter +5 Russian Imperial Stout = 23755 gallons

    Basic Saison

Toss in half a pound or so of cane sugar and it looks like a winner to me!

    Meridian Hops

I made an IPA earlier this year with meridian, and it turned out fantastic. Granted, I did use galena and belma as well, so I don't have a great example of the isolated hop. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?p=7044455

    Double IPA Life IPA

Everyone does seems to think of Galena as exclusively as a bittering hop, but I use this guide for hops. It lists Galena to have fruity black currant and citrus flavors. I figured why not? Sounds tasty to me! As for the Belma, my only regret was using leaf hops since I had no access to...
