Kegging Problem: My tap will not dispense.

Thanks, yeah. I know the problem now, but last night I was unsure if that was definitely the problem. If this does ever happen again, this will be the first thing that I will do.

Kegging Problem: My tap will not dispense.

anokiernan, Thanks for the reply, and it was kinda what I was thinking (clog). Unfortunately, I could not unclog the output. I opened the keg and poured most of the carbed beer into growlers for this weekend. I disassembled the keg to find much "junk" within the actual outlet post, beside the...

Kegging Problem: My tap will not dispense.

Hello All, I have an issue, and since I am pretty new to kegging, I cannot troubleshoot this myself. I have a two tap kegerator that I built. I have a three guage, taprite regulator, 5lbs of co2, and perlick faucets. I have been using this system for a few months now with no issues. Until now...

    When to remove hops???

Okay, I have a few brews under my belt. I have a pretty consistant method for beginner brewing, but this subject has just started to bother me. I have a good grasp on hop additions and such, but I have recently discovered that I do not know specifically when to remove the hops from the wort...

    The hop shortage

I have recently read that chamomile was the primary bittering agent in brews before hops were used. Due to the hops shortage that we may be seeing, is this a possible temporary replacement? Have any of you experimented with (or heard anything about) brewing with chamomile?

    In danger of Bottle Bombs?

Not real closely. But I started fermentation at around 72 F , there was a temp dip due to a severe cold front about 3 day into ferment. (down to about 68-69) F. Then resumed 72-73 F a day later for the remainder. Do you think that the change in temp or pressure has anything to do with the...

    In danger of Bottle Bombs?

Day 7 Update: Chilled stout... And with much anticipation, popped the top. There was a very faint hiss, the pour revealed a very slight head. (No spewing) Actually, tasted very good. I know I may not be in the clear, but it appears that the beer is running it's natural course. Fingers crossed.

    In danger of Bottle Bombs?

Yeah. I tasted the hydrometer sample. Tasted sweet. But have never used Laaglander before, so I don't know what to expect. I will just test them as you have suggested. Thanks for your help.

    In danger of Bottle Bombs?

So, I just bottle a stout that has been fermenting in primary just under 2 weeks. When bottling the beer seemed pretty carbonated already. Very Strange. I'm wondering if I have bottle bombs on my hands. Crucial Info: OG: 1.050 FG: 1.024 (Remained so for 4 days) Style: Stout...

    Wheat or Bitter

I am planning to brew my third batch this weekend. I was trying to decide between a wheat or a bitter. Don't want anything incredibly complicated, but not a pure extract brew either. I live in an apartment and have a 3 gallon pot, so full boil is a no go. Any suggestions?

    Yeast Questions

Gotcha. I figured as much. With the way this batch, I don't think I want to risk an infection. Thanks again.

    Yeast Questions

Thanks for the calc link. Will underpitching result in incomplete fermentation, slow fermentation? I pulled a sample to check progress last night. (activity was strange) OG 1.050 as of last night 1.030. Drank sample. It was already incredibly good. That's all one can ask for i...

    Yeast Questions

I've got a few questions about yeast. If you guys could help me out, t'would be greatly appreciated. 1. Under pitching: I started an Irish Stout 4 days ago ( Cooper's Stout LME & Laaglander Dark DME). I was supplied with 7 grams dried yeast with the kit. Is this really enough yeast? Should...
