10 gallon batch, 5 gallon cornies

That was the answer I was looking for. Thanks.

10 gallon batch, 5 gallon cornies

But if the second keg is full, then minimal splash. That's my thought. This is in my fridge, so the tee thing would work and then when one is done, transfer the liquid line. This I understand, this is my first go on 10 gallons. Just thinking of another way to skin a cat and am looking for input.

    Should I Prune My Hops??

First year plant? If so, train everything that comes out of the ground so that root production will be the main focus. Year 2, train the 4 strongest bines that shoot up and cut the rest.

10 gallon batch, 5 gallon cornies

Just upgraded to 10 gallon batches and have my finished beer in 2 cornies. I have the gas line on one keg in the in port and the out port of that same keg is connected to the in of the other keg. Will the gas carbonate both kegs? Or should I treat them on there own? My thinking is that the keg...

    Cut new growth?

Me also. Is this for disease purpose or does it help energy go to cone production or both?

    Harvesting turbo yeast

I have recently gotten into... ahem... the higher alcohol play dates and was wondering if anyone out there has successfully reused turbo yeast. Not sure about the minerals and nutrients in the package if this is needed everytime. I have been harvesting my beer yeast for a while now, just...

    Hop Growers in Southern California

Not to create a pissing contest, but my Centennial is at 15 feet. 2nd year plant. Chinook, CTZ, and Nugget at 12 feet. Cascade is being stupid, only 2 feet. Just barely trained. Weird, cause it was the first to pop up.

    Second year question

Kinda weird. One of the others is having the same thing happen. This is my best growing plant this year. No breaks of any kind. Guess that the only thing to go is let it ride, what's the worst that can happen, more cones?

    Second year question

No, I think that I am misunderstood. The bine that the growth is on is 6 feet tall. Only shows on the centennial. I am thinking that is a characteristic of the variety? I have 5 varities, all are sprouted and climbing, the centennial just has additional bines growing from the bine about 6 inches...

    Second year question

Second year hops. Have chosen four bines that will carry the load. On my Centennial, the bines seem to have additional bines coming out from the original bines near the base, not out of the dirt. Since I decided that four bines carry the load, do I cut the additional bines or let them grow? Last...

    Optimal Soil Conditions?

I like chicken feces. Kinda treat my hop plants like their close cousins, the ones with buds, not cones. Triple 6 fertilizer works good too, coffee grounds have a ton of nitrogen, but use with care because it has alot of acid also.

    A couple HOP questions?

The first year, the thing that is most important to the plant is root production. I planted 5 varieties and all together harvest was under a pound, as well as low alpha acids. I trained every shoot that came up also, so may have led to low fruit output. Second year though, harvested a pound per...

    Question for all-grain brewers

Anyone know of a bigger round cooler?

    Question for all-grain brewers

Put me down for round cooler, fly sparge also. My only problem is that there is a limit to size. I would like to bump up to 10 gal batches, and a 10 gal mash tun will not cut it. I have not seen any that are bigger and round.

    Brewing old grains

    Brewing old grains

I had one sit in a bag for a few months. Came out fine, just came out short on the O.G. I blame it on the grains. Same brew I made a couple times, that was the only thing that changed.

    first all grain questions...

Sorry, I reread my post and it does seem as though is said it will absorb 4 gallons. What I meant was 4 gallons of sparge water. Seems as though it will taste good, nice and nutty. Maybe increase the maris otter a pound to make sure that a decent O.G. will be hit that will ferment out. Kinda...
