    "left-ovahs" Ale

I guess I'll just do BM's "cream of 3 crops" with pale ale malt instead of 2-row and see how it turns out. :-/

    "left-ovahs" Ale

Ugh... After years I'm still SUCH a noob! Especially when it comes to recipes! As the subject indicates, I have some leftover grain/hops/yeast from a previous brew day and I'd love to throw it all together to make a "passable" light ale. I'm not one for hoppy pale ales but I don't mind a...

    No co2 flow.. :-/

I absolutely hate to post back when I look like a total fool, but maybe, just maybe, someone else can learn from my dumb mistakes.. I went to Arcet with my tank and regulator in hand to see if I could get help solving this mystery. The very nice gentleman, who is the manager of this branch...

    No co2 flow.. :-/

So I'm back to brewing after a couple years and had a decent brew day last week. I did BMs ale version of an Oktoberfest and the fermenter samples taste great! Anyway, when I left last left off, I was kegging without much issue... I needed to exchange my co2 tank as the one I had was empty. The...

    Cooling coils inside fermentor?

Have you thought of something like this: http://home.roadrunner.com/~brewbeer/chiller/chiller.PDF Or even just the ol "fermenter half submerged in water in a storage container changing out frozen water bottles" routine?!

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

I have some briess pale ale malt that needs to get to brewing. Will that work with this recipe?

    Back after a while :-)

I'm baaaaaaack :-) Just when I got a decent brew system going the Lord blessed me and my wife with a little boy.... And then another 20 months later. Needless to say, brewing took a backseat (unfortunately) well my youngest is now walking and my passion for brewing has been kept under wraps...

Does this GFCI look like it will work?

Soo..... If i have this straight.... I need to rewire things in the following way... Correct? 1. Buy a new dryer outlet that matches the cord pictured above. Rewire it to the breaker with a ground. Link 2. Buy new dryer cord (link) and put a screw in the back to attach the ground cord to. I...

Does this GFCI look like it will work?

Thanks for the link! My dryer has this outlet: http://applianceguru.com/dryers/dryer_outlet.jpg If I'm correct, this is a 3 wire hookup (my dryer). SO.... being as though the product in question is a 4 wire hookup what is my shortest (and hopefully least expensive) route to creating a viable...

Does this GFCI look like it will work?

LOL.. *takes notes*... "beer... AFTER... job" Remember that part earlier in the thread where I said I knew just enough to stay safe and not much more??? Well it's showing itself very well as you all educate me here! What would I do without you! Just so you all know, I wouldn't do anything...

Does this GFCI look like it will work?

Probably don't need 50A... 30 would be plenty. Hm.. another ebay link... (apologies for researching and posting at the same time!!) http://cgi.ebay.com/SQUARE-D-30-AMP-1-POLE-QOB130GFI-QOB-GFI-GFCI-Breaker_W0QQitemZ260426763338QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3ca2a50c4a

Does this GFCI look like it will work?

Passedpawn.. thanks for the help. Truly appreciated. I definitely know that I need to pot the electrical side, and I completely forgot about the gasket that comes with the element! Any reason you think this wouldn't work for my needs if I were to go for the gusto with a 5500watt element?

Does this GFCI look like it will work?

Yeah... not looking good. Just saw it's only rated to 15A as well. Saw another product for $70 that looks more like the real deal. McMaster-Carr wins again! So.. if I get the 1" locknut from bargain fittings.. The only other thing I need to seal the element in is a gasket of some kind...

Does this GFCI look like it will work?

QUESTION STARTS IN 2nd PARAGRAPH!! :-D Hey HBT! It's good to be back after about a 9 month hiatus. My wife and I had a son 1 year ago and brewing, unfortunately, had to take a backseat. Worst of all, I didn't make it on the forum very often! I'm back to brewing and had a smashing success...

Not new.. just been gone for a while.

It's been almost a year since I've been active on this board. My wife and I had our first child last October and it has kept me from brewing all the while. What really stinks is I got some cool brewing stuff for Christmas last year and haven't been able to brew with it. The bug is hitting me...

    Keezer maintenance in between pours?

Gila beat me to it! His post is definitely more educational anyway!

    Keezer maintenance in between pours?

I'm new to kegging, but I think I can give you a quick answer. Others should be along shortly to help! The beer stays under pressure as it remains in the line. It won't go flat, but it should remain cold. If you are using a picnic tap, this shouldn't be a problem but if you every use any...

    Built a 'Super Chiller'

BM will have to answer the question but the name of the picture is "pre-chiller" so that might give an indication.:)

    kegging system

I don't know if you are starting from scratch or are just upgrading to a kegerator, but I think this is a great deal and is getting me into my first keg next weekend!
