I've seen some people use a fan that takes the cold air and forces it through the tap tower. I don't use either. After the first pour my taps stay nice a cold until we are done drinking :mug:

No problem at all. Just make sure you use a rubber gromit or insulating foam to keep the cold from escaping.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Centennial is perfect for both bittering and flavor/aroma. Use BeerSmith or another program to know how much you need.

First time using fruit...question about time

Maybe I'll just wait and see what 2 pounds tastes like in a couple weeks. I used sweet and tart cherries. I was looking for sour cherries but couldn't find them.

First time using fruit...question about time

The are whole cherries. They did have the pits removed so there is a large hole in the middle of each cherry. I didn't feel like waiting for them to thaw so I could slice them. Plus I didn't want to risk contaminating them, I just threw them in frozen. Do you think I should add a couple more pounds?

First time using fruit...question about time

Hello all, I made a Belgian Strong Ale, OG was 1.106 and FG is 1.013 after 3 weeks :rockin::tank: I just racked into secondary with 2 LBS of frozen cherries (should I add more cherries?) How long can these cherries sit in the beer? I poorly planned this and perhaps I should have let this...

    Always missing OG after boil

Ok I did what you suggested and now I'm only off by 1 point. Thank you for helping me! I think I'm dialed in now.

    Always missing OG after boil

Thanks guys. I have a feeling my profile is all messed up in beersmith. I'll go over it later and see if there's any errors. Maybe after I changed the boil off rate the profile didn't save. I didn't check if the strike/sparge volumes changed or not. I thought that would be more along the lines...

    Always missing OG after boil

It is measured after cooling. I always pour 5.5 gallons into the fermentor and I have trub left over in the kettle, maybe 1/4 gallon of trub.

    Always missing OG after boil

    I always mix throughly :mug:

    Always missing OG after boil

Ok so I boiled off 1.5 gallons in an hour. BeerSmith was set to 1.75gph. I changed it to 1.5 in my profile but the estimated OG for the recipe remains the same?

    Always missing OG after boil

Good call. I'll see what I have beersmith set as.

    Always missing OG after boil

I consistently achieve my estimated pre-boil gravity but after the boil I always miss the OG by 5 or so points. What am I doing wrong? I'm too lazy to add DME at the end of my boil to reach my desired OG :drunk:

Northern Brewer Chipotle Porter Recipe AG

I used the canned with sauce but I rinsed them before adding to the beer.
