    An oatmeal stout in celebration of being name the "2014 Joliet Home Brewer of the Year". That's my local home brew club and I'm stoked to be the first one, great night!!!

    WOW! Coffee, roastiness, sweet molasses and soft on the Bourbon. Just phenomenal! Fabulous end to a ****ty day with the world's crabbiest 2 and 3.5 yr old!

    Coffee Bender while brewing a belgian blonde. Skipped sleep after work to brew so naturally drinking beer with coffee is preferred route now.

    Been a busy brew month: -RIS bulk aging on port wine soaked oak spirals -Oktoberfest -Winter Warmer -DIPA (Pliny clone) -Hefeweizen -Coffee Porter (coming next Friday! )

    Yeah sounds like you are on the right track. I use http://www.yeastcalculator.com/ and I love it. According that site for 1.107 and 6 gallons you'll need 430 billions yeast cells. You'll need to the production date on the yeast to determine how big of a 2nd step though. For example super fresh...

    On Saturday I got: Half a pound of Simcoe, 2oz each of Centennial & Columbus along with two 10ML & on 3ML hopshot from Yakima Valley...Most of this is destined for a Pliny clone!

    American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

    I've brewed it 3 or 4 times based on the original recipe and it's spot on and makes a fabulous brew!
