    bottling question.

    Hi I made a st peters golden ale kit and it stopped fermenting after 6 days so I took a reading and bottled two Bottles and added sugar...I then left the fermenter for another 10 days to apparently aid taste and clarity... I then added sugar to hot water added the wort and bottled the rest..last...

    Brewferm secondary..

    Hi it states in the instructions of the kit that initial fermentation takes 10 days then can be bottled but should really be moved to another sealed container for 2-4 weeks...Does this container need an airlock fitted or can i just put the lid on and store at 20 degrees..cheers..

    1st bottling.

    Hi i've just bottled my 2nd brew kit by moving it to a bottling bucket,leavingthe lid off and dispensing the ale into bottles by using a nifty length of plastic with a spring at the bottom that lets the beer flow when pushed onto the bottom of the bottle...Was it ok to allow air into the beer...

    Thick head...

    My nelsons revenge is 17 days into a keg and i've had about 7 pints and when i had 2 pints the last time(xmas night)it gave me a thick head like i've had 10 pints is this just normal for homebrew?

    secondary ferment?

    Hi i've been advised to leave my brew in the fermenter for 2-3 weeks for taste and clarity but have read that i need to get my brew out of the fermenter after the initial 4-6 days ferment as the yeast has finished and is now going to start to decompose... Its been in the fermenter now for 12...

    carbonation drops/sugar...

    Hi,i'm going to bottle my st peters golden ale on the 1st of january and after comments from here i will be moving the beer from fermenter to bottling bucket... I'll be adding the sugar 1st with some hot water then adding the beer,,,after this i'll bottle it which will save me teaspooning sugar...

    Storing beer.

    Once bottled can i store my beer in a fridge or shed as i'm getting limited on space...i've got a feeling the beer will condition better at room temp,putting it in the fridge will slow this down yes??

    beer strength!

    Hi do i need to keg my brew from fermenting vessel before bottling?     fermentation time?

    Last night i was told that leaving my brew to ferment for upto 3 weeks rather than the 4-6 days advised on the label will allow it to maximise the clarity and taste which is great. Everything will drop to the bottom in this time which wasn't the case when i kegged after 8 days on my 1st ever...

    how long shall i wait?

    I've just had my nelsons revenge at 22-24c for 24hrs and have now moved the keg to 16-18c....(This temp may drop to 14/15 overnight is this ok?).How long shall i wait to have a little snifter as i do want to sample it as its my 1st brew but also want it to taste good?.Cheers

    Fermentation?

    Hi,i've just bought my 1st kit and have noticed the 36 pints of nelsons revenge has stopped bubbling at 5 days which is spot on according to the box..The question is can i leave it till monday to keg as i'm busy till then? Also how much sugar should i add to 36 pints and what type? Cheers..
