    bottling question.

    Hi I made a st peters golden ale kit and it stopped fermenting after 6 days so I took a reading and bottled two Bottles and added sugar...I then left the fermenter for another 10 days to apparently aid taste and clarity... I then added sugar to hot water added the wort and bottled the rest..last...

    Brewferm secondary..

    Hi it states in the instructions of the kit that initial fermentation takes 10 days then can be bottled but should really be moved to another sealed container for 2-4 weeks...Does this container need an airlock fitted or can i just put the lid on and store at 20 degrees..cheers..

    1st bottling.

    Hi i've just bottled my 2nd brew kit by moving it to a bottling bucket,leavingthe lid off and dispensing the ale into bottles by using a nifty length of plastic with a spring at the bottom that lets the beer flow when pushed onto the bottom of the bottle...Was it ok to allow air into the beer...

    Thick head...

    My nelsons revenge is 17 days into a keg and i've had about 7 pints and when i had 2 pints the last time(xmas night)it gave me a thick head like i've had 10 pints is this just normal for homebrew?

    Ahh ok,i'll leave it a while longer,also i took a hydrometer reading at og of 1.044 and then yesterday day 11 it was 1.018...the beer should be 4.7abv but that only gives me 3.4 which if thats the case is annoying because i like beer over 5.0abv as a rule...i'm prob best not to take readings i...

    Yeah agree,am going to leave in primary for my 2nd batch for 17 days which is the 1st january then try my 1st bottling attempt....A german pilsner is waiting for my 3rd brew...lovin it..

    carbonation drops/sugar...

    Hi,i'm going to bottle my st peters golden ale on the 1st of january and after comments from here i will be moving the beer from fermenter to bottling bucket... I'll be adding the sugar 1st with some hot water then adding the beer,,,after this i'll bottle it which will save me teaspooning sugar...

    Once bottled can i store my beer in a fridge or shed as i'm getting limited on space...i've got a feeling the beer will condition better at room temp,putting it in the fridge will slow this down yes??

    Hi do i need to keg my brew from fermenting vessel before bottling?     fermentation time?

    Last night i was told that leaving my brew to ferment for upto 3 weeks rather than the 4-6 days advised on the label will allow it to maximise the clarity and taste which is great. Everything will drop to the bottom in this time which wasn't the case when i kegged after 8 days on my 1st ever...

    Ahhh so when i asked about the remnants floating on the surface and being told they were yeast rafts then if i leave to ferment longer these will move to the bottom giving me a cleaner brew when i syphon..
