Ok guys just put these in bottles. I didnt like the way it tasted so I added 3 cans of the frozen apple concentrate along with 7 lbs of honey. Now I'm loving it. It's better than the Crispin Honey. You can really taste both the honey and apple this way. Just my .02 but I'm all about the...
Ok guys, my blonde is getting to that spot where you look forward to the next one as you are drinking one. Cant wait to see how it is as time goes on. I was a bit down on the taste early on but letting it sit it has really changed for the best.
How long do you guys bottle condition for it to start tasting real good? Its drinkable now but it def has room to improve on. Its the middle thats lacking. The end is the fruit (I wish I had did the lactose step due to tartness).
Aw man. That sounds serious. Hopefully all is well and everything works out. I really want to see what everyone is talking about with this brew. I took your advise and drank some of my caramel apple cider and honey cream ale and thats why Im so chill bout it. Wasnt earlier. lol
Guys I was away working on my car and my wife rearranged the rooms in the house. My carboy was covered in a corner but when I just went to transfer onto the fruit to my horror my airlock was on the ground. If it fell when they moved it sat. would my beer be in trouble? I hope not because I...
Guys make sure to check your labels on the concentrate because the one I added had preservatives and killed my yeast. So that explains why my cider never carb'ed up. Its still good though and everyone likes it. Oh well you live and you learn.
Has anyone had slow carbing? Its been over a week and I'm still left with still cider. Its great but I would like it carb'ed. I used 5 cans of Frozen Apple Juice Concentrate along with some dextrose. Still nothing.
Ok just brewed this last night. I changed up the recipe a little by adding 1lb of honey malt and using wheat DME. OG came out to 1.070. Will prob let this sit for two weeks and then rack on 8-10lbs of strawberries with .5-1lb of lactose for 10 days. Then rack again to clear for two weeks...
Yea thats what I meant. It was brought up to me in another thread. Thats where it is though. I will back sweeten it to try to make it less dry with a nonfermentable suger because ide like to sparkle it. My fear is if I put the campden tabs that I will lose that aspect.
Just started this mead. I must say that I enjoyed drinking my sample that I took my og reading with. I just used the smack pack. Should I still add some more yeast nutrients, if so when and how much?
