    Nothing but light under microscope

    I just started using my microscope, I put some yeast slurry on a slide and tried to look at it under 400x and seeing nothing but yellow. I've tried to focus as directed (started with 4x objective, moved to 10x, then 40x). Played with the condenser, coarse then fine knob. Nothing but bright...

    Rehydrate Dry yeast = less packets?

    Mr Malty gives numbers based on no rehydration (I assume). Jamil says half of cells are killed without rehydration. So if I rehydrate...I should be able to use ~1/2 the amount of dry yeast Mr Malty tells me to use. Thoughts? I understand the "its not expensive so just buy another...

    Brew 10gal concentrated and adding 10gal boiled water

    I have a kettle that can brew 10gals. I have a fermentor that can ferment 20gals (+room for fermentation activity). I want to brew a 10gal batch with grains+hops for a 20gal batch. Add to fermentor and add 10 gals of boiled/cooled water. Then pitch yeast. Any problems with this? Any affect...

    Step to 5L and then split to 8 mason jars

    Recirculating wort in boil kettle

    I recirculated wort in my boil kettle from my plate chiller to cool down the wort from 200->80 and also for 5 mins during boil (no counter water) to sanitize the chiller. During boil, this caused a second LARGE THICK hot break and the foam never really died down. Any cause for concern...
