You know you're a home brewer when?

when you see a tanker truck with a CO2 label and think to yourself that thing could be used to carb a lot of homebrew

18 year old malt effects on final gravity

I found out the hard way as well. My Dad had two Better Brewer Oktoberfest kits that he didn't want as he has been concentrating on wine for the last few years. I ignored the fact that they were 2 years past their expiration date and brewed one anyway. It turned out terrible. The LME didn't...

Did you save your first homebrew?

I don't think I've ever had a beer make it past 3 or 4 months. One day maybe, not yet though. (I thought only Rachel Rae was allowed to use the word, delish ?)

Thought 3 kegs would be enough

Thought 3 kegs would be enough

I brewed my favorite beer which is an Oktoberfest and was optimistic that I would wait till October to tap the keg. With three kegs I don't run out of good homebrew on tap but I guess I'll never know what the traditional lagering of this beer will be. I've read that it's supposed to be even...

    First co2 refill .

Well, I took a 5lb that I already had and a 2.5 that came with my kegorator. The 2.5 was filled once before also but leaked everything due to a small leak on the reg that I didn't notice. Walked in the door and the guy said, "next time come on a pick-up because we aren't supposed to let you...

    First co2 refill .

Going to get my co2 tank filled. It was first filled in 2007 I believe and used a few times then retired for a few years. After getting back into homebrewing and getting all the foam issues worked out of my kegging set-up, I am going for a refill today. The co2 lasted quite a long time and I was...

    Keg Connection Problem (literally)

I also had an issue with one of my kegs from them but they handled it perfect. A liquid out post was damaged (lip above the o-ring was dented down severely)and I couldn't get the QC to lock on. They sent a new outpost but I still had the problem. Turns out the poppet spring would not compress...
