Help Me clone 21st Amendment Toaster Pastry India Red

The linked recipe above from MtnSoul is mine, it turns out great, very close to original. brewing it today for the 3rd time. Not sure where I got the info about the massive amount of dry hop, but it works. Bready almost PBJ like red IPA. http://www.brewersfriend.com/homebre...toaster-pastry

Craft The Perfect Draft - Tips For Clearing Your Beer

@Micha ^^^ You beat me to it. This article must be from 2005 or something. It really should be removed or corrected as this info is not accurate as of 2015. And AFAIK Whirlfloc should be added at 5 minutes, not 10.

    Formulating Birch Saison Recipe

So my and a few friends are trying our second attempt at a birch infused beer. Last year we did a wit using birch bark and a gallon of sap (not syrup). It was good, won honorable mention in competition, but we and the judges didnt think it was the best suited style for the unique birch flavor...

    Cold crash, keg, burst carb?????

That is exactly how I keg most of my beers. Though IMHO it takes 24 hours in the keg to achieve desirable carbonation when using the shake and roll method. Also, I would cold crash for at least 2 days if you want the beer to clarify (dont do this with your witbier or intentionally hazy style)...

Help me figure this out - Crooked Stave St. Bretta Starter has odd ongoings...

I used 4 bottles of St Bretta Summer to grow up a good cell count and pitched into a 5 gallon batch, fermented from 1.048 to 1.006. It smelled and tastes very much like St bretta. I collected 3 mason jars of washed slurry, and used on of them to ferment the next batch, winter blueberry sour.

    IPA Recipe thoughts...

Looks good overall but you may want to check the IBU's on the recipe. My math (using http://www.brewersfriend.com/) calculates that to just about 50-55 IBU (IPA 'style' is 60-120). Thats cutting it a bit low, unless its intentional. If you want more bite I would drop a full ounce at 60 instead...

    Homebrew ROI?

This prompted me to try to actually calculate my ROI. My household consumes alot of beer, so this is all assuming anything brewed would have otherwise been purchased. I'm sure I left some things out (please let me know if you notice anything wrong), but the results, (if my math is correct) are...

    Frozen Blueberry Dilema

Likely water from the thaw or the blueberry juice itself from a few squished berries, I added 2 lbs blueberries to my irish red ale last night and realized blueberry juice isnt really blue, or red, more like slightly amber water color.

    2 Recipes from 1 Batch

Q: Is it possible to brew 2 separate IPAs/PAs from one (10 gal for me) batch? A: Yes, updated with a reply I was pondering adding a single addition neutral AA hop (Magnum) at 60 minutes, do a no-chill method (cools overnight in fermentor), and add 2 different hops while its still hot (separated...

    3D printed brewing equipment

Hi all, kinda new to posting here, but brewing AG +3 years and use this recipe database as my bible. I am not yet formulating recipes but feel the need to contribute. On that note, I've gotten pretty deep into 3D printing the past 3 years for other reasons, and figure there's got to be a way...

Experimental Beer Slim's Graham Cracker Ale 2.0

So I brewed this 2 weeks ago, was on my to-do list for almost a year now. The brew process went smoothly, everything to recipes but subbed brewers best cacao nibs instead of bakers chocolate. Wondering if the substitute was the culprit... When I racked to bottle half and keg other half, I...

    Adjuncts in Oatmeal Brown Ale?

So.... I have brewed a 6 gal split-batch holiday beer, which consists of a brown ale with oatmeal and brown sugar (Zamil's Oatmeal Cookie recipe), I will likely keep 1/2 normal without any adjuncts, but I would Like to experiment with the other 3 gallons in the secondary. It wont exactly be a...
