    I tried the recipe above as my first all-grain batch. I just came across a bottle in the cellar (the very last one, now a year old). I used too much nutmeg, but the flavor was pretty much right on otherwise. I now use iBrewmaster for my recipes, and here is what I have down for notes...

    Update: let this one age for more than two weeks in the bottles. Holy chocolate malty deliciousness Batman!!!!! The flavor was sooooooooo much more pronounced when I poured one last night. Thick, cream colored head that lasted to the last drink. Seriously wish I hadn't changed anything.

    Pored some last night, and tastes great!! As for the honey, I won't add so much next time. Had a slight headache this morning. If you're boiling it, I've read the type of honey won't matter. Boiling it denatures the honey, so no real flavor carries over.

    Most likely user error on my initial reading. Took a sample last night and it tasted fantastic. Smooth, dark and rich - just like I love my women. I bottled half last night and added vanilla beans to the other half.

    No, you're reading it right. 3.5# of honey.Dont know why, it just seemed ..... Good. Anyways, I used a yeast cake from my previous beer (prior to blueberries) made from safale us 05. I made two starters from it and pitched both. Now, before Revvy shows up and slaps me with some NOOB knowledge...

    Hi all. Newto the forum and to homebrewing. I modified NB's extract version of this by adding 1/2 pound of chocolate malt and 6 oz. of black patent with the one pound of caramel.
