Ok, well a few buddies and I will be redploying soon and will be staying in San Fran for the night. Looking to see if there are any good beer joints within walking distance from Staybridge near the mall. Thanks for any info y'all can get me. :mug:

Ok, I'm looking two different mills. The good ole BC with the 15# hopper and the three roller MM. I've read tons on the BC and know that it's a great mill. But what about the three roller MM?? Is there anyone with experience with both? I already know the MM is going to run about $80+ more than...

That's true. Everything is more expensive in HI. Are you military? COLA will help off set it a bit. If you have to pay full price for shipping, you won't mind paying what's charged. Just wait until you see the price of co2 if you keg.

are you moving to HI? As far as I know, you can bring it with you. You can also order from online vendors and have it shipped to HI. But there is a local shop in Honolulu.

I brewed 10 gallons of this last year. Loved it, but I lost half due to a leaky keg. I'll be brewing this again this year when I get back from Kyrgyzstan. :mug:

I use to live near there. Moved nov 2011. I know it doesn't help any, just thought I would chime in. Oh, a few places there have some nice beer festivals from time to time. Are you military?

Just had a sample from my hydro jar.....it's good. Going to be a lot better once I get back in about seven months.

Check the gravity before ramping up the temps. If it's mostly done, it should be fine. You got to remember that lager yeast is slower than ale yeast. If it were me, I would hold off for one more week and let it finish in the 50's.

When I ran autotune on my setup, I started with water fresh from the tap. I would think starting auto tune that close to final temp would cause an over shoot of temp.

Yeah, no joke. My rental I had was broken into when I first got here. Wasn't even a week. I thought my stuff would be ok in the trunk since it was out of sight. Nope, them meth heads target rental cars. From what I was told by HPD, the dodge charger is the most broken into car here.

And I'm also on the island. Will be deploying in April, but will be back around sep Oct time frame.

From what I've heard, kona has an ipa at there restaurant in Hawaii Kai. You can only get it on the island. Also, I was told there is a new brew pub near wakiki on Nimitz near lowes.
