This is my first full boil. I'm gonna start with around 6 gals of water. My question is when I pour into the primary if I'm a little short of 5 gals can I just add water or will that affect anything? Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

I've made several batches of beer now but this is the first to taste like this. It was a jai alai clone. It tasted great for the first month and then 2 or 3 months later tasted very hot any suggestions? I always follow the temps during brewing and fermentation.

Skip the secondary and dry hop it in the primary. Y risk oxidation I just brewed an IIPA and it will all be done in the primary until I go to keg it. I left it in primary for 3 weeks and then dry hopped for one more i keg it on Monday.

What are u brewing depending on that I would skip the secondary and just leave it in the primary.

Exactly just rack the beer off between the bottom layer of trub and the hops on the top.

Probably not but I suggest taking it off and sanitizing it now rather then just leaving it on there.

You will be fine just take it out the morning you brew your beer let it get to room temp and pitch it into your primary. It will be fine.

Next time you bottle try and attach your bottling wand directly up to your bottling bucket using about 2 inches of tubing. Then you can put the bucket on your kitchen counter above your dishwasher leave the washer open so it catches any spills and then instead of having someone hold the wand it...

PBW is a cleaner like Oxyclean. I just buy Oxyclean free from Walmart or target. The Oxyclean free is odorless. As for the detergent I would just rinse the bottles out really good. U don't want any soap residue in ur bottles it could ruin the head of ur beer.

It depends on how much of a starter u made if its a big starter dumping the whole thing in could change the taste. I always chill in fridge decant the wort and then dump the yeast into the primary.

No u pretty much got it during the 2 days make sure u shake it a lot to aerate the wort. Plastic should be fine too.

Go to the book store and pick up how to brew by John Palmer. I learned everything using that book and this website. They're both great.
