Show Me Your Wood Brew Sculpture/Rig

Mines almost 7' long and I think I could park my car on it without sagging. Just casters on the corners.

    Help With Brew Magic

Are you fermenting the entire 10 gallon batch in one vessel or splitting it up? If you are fermenting in one are you pitching quite a bit more yeast than your five gallon required? Long lag times, etc = more esters and off flavors.

    Vacuum sealer recommendations???

Hi all, I am looking for some advice about different models of vacuum sealers and which ones work well for sealing hops. There are so many mixed reviews on the shopping sites so I'm hoping the homebrewing community will be a better resource.

Anyone tried this timer in their CP?

I went with the Sestos B2E and am quite pleased with it so far. I don't recall the cost but I bought it on amazon for I think around $27. It has the same four buttons as the Omega timer and wiring instructions can be found on this site.

Building my Kal inspired control panel

Here's a few more of the inside (sorry for some fuzziness, took with phone):

Building my Kal inspired control panel

Well, this control panel took quite a bit longer than I planned (both cost and time) but it is all done and working! So here's some pics. I mounted the panel with an articulating flat panel TV mount that is rated to hold more weight than the panel. I also used regulated switching power...

    First Year Hop Growers

I just bought hop plants from Great Lakes Hops and planted them recently. Do you recommend leaving all the bines for the first year just like a rhizome? Or, should I trim off the bines I am not going to train? Thanks to all growers in advance for your advice!

    Hop Pole Question

The Harbor Freight pole retracts and comes in a box about five feet long, so it should fit in your car. I ordered two of them for a trellis and they appear very sturdy and should work well.

    Beware of Auber Instruments

I would have to say that the only company involved that came out excellent in this thread is USAA. I'm glad it got resolved for you but too bad it had to go all the way to almost having a charge reversed by USAA to get decent customer service. However, I will still order from Auber because of...

    Cheap compact wort pump

I just bought a polysulfone pump from Chugger about two weeks ago and it was a perfect transaction. The site works fine and the pump was shipped to me very quickly. I would definitely buy again from Chugger!

Is this tubing from Midwest Supplies OK?

Answer this question... Is it worth the possibility of ruining your entire batch if chemicals leech out versus just spending the few extra dollars for 500 degree rated silicone tubing?

Idea for a retractable hop trellis.

So I was looking through the Harbor Freight ad and noticed the 20' retractable flag poles and got the idea to buy two of them and run a steel wire across the top of them and coir twine down to the ground. Then at harvest time I should be able to just lower the poles instead of needing a ladder...

Show Me Your Wood Brew Sculpture/Rig

I did eventually wind up putting a thin layer of cement board (durock) against the lower tier (and also the top tier as a precaution) just as a safeguard to prevent the same issue you are concerned about. However, I will state that my sculpture (as built) did not have any evidence of charring...

12" False Bottom in an Igloo Cooler

I would suggest checking out the false bottom for an Igloo cooler that Adventures in Homebrewing sells. I bought it and have had much better results sparging and have had zero stuck sparges. It costs more but is worth it. I have used both kinds and will not go back to the standard type sold by...

    Control box build discouragement

Thanks for the positive motivation. I have had to take a break from the build to recoup financially from xmas with all the kids. I needed the reminder once the bills get paid.

    Hoppo's E-Brewery Build

I am still building my Kal clone control panel but I have bought most of the parts already and I 100% agree with the previous two posters. I am having a great time building the CP and I have the build estimated at about $800 (I have paid out already for most of it but have some add on stuff...

Keg Cowboy 30 plate wort chiller, Hop Stopper

If those are the model numbers then the brand of heat exchanger would be from DudaDiesel.
