That is correct. In addition, after adding 4# of Golden DME at around 15 minutes, the peat smell has almost gone away completely. OG was about 1.056

Color of mash came out light and smells awful peaty. We will see!

I have a Talisker 10 year single malt sitting a few feet away from my kitchen so I will make sure to test both and see :)

Only reason i chose this was because it cleans up so well. I wanted the biggest flavors to come from the peppers and the peated malt.

It was high...mashing already. Smells smoky but not overbearing though. It may be a miss, and I am sure I will know about 2 hours from now if it is. Thanks for the heads up though!

I would imagine allergies. You can certainly be allergic to certain types of hops or grains that could cause this.

It isn't half bad with the American pale I just kegged. Going to try the same recipe again with a trio of willamette, cascade, and centennial. I'll keep you posted
