    No hop aroma..??

I leave every batch in primary for 2 weeks. I felt that this would be enough time to clear up. But I'm going to take a reading after 2weeks to make sure.

    No hop aroma..??

Ohh !! Another thing! I dont live where i brew i do it at my cousins house because he has more space we have a chest freezer there with temperature control we use for fermentation. The bottles were stored In this chest freezer but my cousin didn't turn it on figuring it would be room...

    No hop aroma..??

I'm still not too good with my readings. I have trouble with the whole gravity. I know its not the best way to know if fermentation is done but I go based on the bubbler activity and always do 2weeks in primary I figure I'd be safe. I should take multiple readings and make sure fermentation has...

    No hop aroma..??

I used zythos hops for the entire brew. The profile I read was thts it should have a good aroma. Tht its a blend made to be used in place of some of the more popular and hard to fin hop varieties. I wasn't expecting it to completely match those varieties but I got nothing. I don't feel its the...

    No hop aroma..??

I'm wondering what can cause your hop aroma to not show up in the final product? I used 4oz of hops to dry hop in my secondary and felt I would have an okay nose on my pale ale but once I sampled it I get nothing.? What can cause this?

Dry hopping didn't turn out as planned

Yeah I had read that which is why I was interested In trying them out. Idk it might have just been my method of placing them and not my choice of zythos. Wouldn't want to discourage anyone frm using them.

Dry hopping didn't turn out as planned

Thanx Everyone :) The only reason I used zythos was because of the shortage of some of the more popular hops at my LHBS. I asked the guy there what I could use to get a somewhat similar nose and he had recommend this hop. I checked out its hop profile and it sounded like it would work okay, I...

Questions on clarifying my beer. (first attempt)

thanx for the info everyone i decided to not worry too much and I simply left it alone. I didn't want to risk having too much yeast fall into suspension when it came time to bottle condition and carbonate being Im a noob I was a bit paranoid, a lot of the haze fell to the bottom. I simply...

Questions on clarifying my beer. (first attempt)

Thanx for the info I appreciate it... so is it okay to add the clarifying agents in my current carboy with my hops in there? And as far as cold crashing if I place my carboy in my fermentation fridge for a day or two right now do I have to wait for it to get back to room temp before bottling or...

Questions on clarifying my beer. (first attempt)

I used safale English ale s-04, yes I am bottling and no didn't use anything during the boil to help clarify. So you're saying no need to worry. I go along as planned wait to cold crash my bottles before serving?

Questions on clarifying my beer. (first attempt)

So i brewed a pale ale and its looking pretty hazy. I did two weeks primary and transferred to my better bottle carboy to dry hop for a week. Im planning to bottle it in a few days. It clarified somewhat in the carboy while i was dry hopping but, I was wondering if i could do anything more to...

    Steeping water temperture

When heating my steeping water how much can I expect its temperature to drop when I place my grains in? I plan to steep them in a separate pot using 1.5-2 quarts of water per pound of grain. Just wondering if I have to heat my water to a higher temp then my steeping temp.

    Temperture controllers

Thank you for all the advice fellow home brewers,I think I got it! :) I didn't want to deal with the trouble shooting once brew day came so I decided to play around with some of your ideas.. So first off I opened the control and made sure the settings were right. It was default at cooling mode...

    Temperture controllers

So I am a newbie to homebrewing only have 3 batches in but I made the jump a while ago and bought a chest freezer for my new hobby but of-course it didn't have a temperature control and I found out I had to buy one in order for my new freezer to be useful to me. So I went online to northern...
