Seeking Advice on Which Smoker to Get - Newby

I see a lot of recommendations for cabenit smokers, which may be what you are going for. If you are wanting to go a bit more pitmaster style, the Char Griller Competition pro is a wonderful and durable unit. It requires a little sealant at attachment points, but I can do a 20lb brisket and a few...

What are you brewing next & have on tap/bottled

I have a mid range ESB, Apple Pie Cider and a RyePA on tap. Thinking about next weekend. I live in the PNW so trying to figure out my next weather appropriate brew. Maybe an Earl Gray PA.

    Anyone ever individual bottle prime?

It should be fine with what you added without swirling.

    Cononical Fermenter Temp Control Options

So I have a 14 gallon cononical that right now I have fermenting in my dining room which holds a stable 65 degrees. Great for winter, but come summer, the electric bill would be outrageous to keep it there. So, I am exploring options for cooling. Glycol chiller is out right now for cost...

    What can I make?

I think you could work out an ESB with that.

    Using coffee in porter

I did the same . Still drinking it honestly. I would advise decaf, though. Just my opinion.

    Brand New to Brewing

Hydrometer, flask and a ton of star San. Honestly, you seem to have the basics down. I did partial mash for a year and a half before going all grain. And even then, it was a bit early.

    Cheap pumps

It works pretty darn well. I have been happy with it this far.

    Cheap pumps

Buy the stainless head. I just went on a test run with this thing and broke the top off. Quiet pump, though.

I have said this a bunch, but from an equipment standpoint, you rarely can go wrong with Craigslist.

This has taken a bit. But here it is. I am calling it Brew-ce. The base of this is all made of upcycled wood from a place called "the rebuilding center" in portland. I used hex lag bolts to join the pieces as they were low cost and high strength. I then used hardeeboard for insulation on the...

    First time brewing question

I agree. About the only thing that may happen is your gravity will be off from Target. Stuff happens man, and about the only thing you ever truly need to bring worries about is being sanitary. Have fun.

    Help with propane plumbing

I want to bump this thread. I have been looking for some sort of diagram/schematic of how people plumbed these things with the black piping. I like the rigidity of the black and, honestly, the aesthetics. I am trying to find clarification on best method from the regulator to the pipe and pipe...

Well, my initial plan was to use fireproof paint. Around the burner will be an aluminum shield. Between burner and wood there is about 12" of space on each side. I am looking basically at a preventative measure that might cost slightly less than the 35 for fireproof paint.
