I hit 1.010 on my fg and it tasted great. Added my dry hops a couple of days ago. Quick question, do you guys use gelatin on this one or is it better to let it be?
Thanks for the response. I went with a couple of S-04 packs. Just sprinkled. Pitched at 67 and will be fermenting at around 64. I hope I have the same experience as you.
On a separate note, what is everyone doing in terms of dry hopping? I have combed through the thread and seen people doing...
I brewed this today using the post #1 recipe! I ended up miscalculating the mash temp (maybe I stirred too much at dough in?)and ended up mashing at about 148-150.
Everything else went great though. My OG was about 1.055 which I was expecting based on my usual efficiency. I don't mind a lower...
I know this is a 5 year old thread but just curious whether anyone has had good results like jwyz1960 brewing this. Its on my cue but was wondering whether I should make any adjustments.
I am curious to know if this got resolved. I was thinking of pairing the intertap flow control faucets with accuflex beer line but now am worried that I will run into the same issue. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
10 days in the keg this beer is delicious. Strikes the perfect balance between chocolate, sweetness, and roast. Very ,very happy with this beer. Even though I missed my OG and ended up with a lower abv porter, it doesn't drink like it. Great Recipe!
Are you tossing the first few ounces you pour away.? I have a porter on tap at the moment and the beer that sits on the line for some reason gets a bitter almost metallic taste. If I toss the first few ounces of the night the rest tastes like it's supposed to.
that being said, if your basement is 65 ambient that would push your temp higher due to the heat generated through fermentation. so garage to start and maybe basement when fermentation is dwindling
I kegged this 2 days ago after cold crashing and adding gelatin. The sample I took had balanced out and tasted really good. I will write more on how this brew came out once it has carbed properly.
