    Bottling from Keg using allinonewinepump

I made one of these a couple of years ago, but it did not work as well as I expected. I pushed the cut off racking tube into the picnic tap, but it split the plastic, I tried it with a second tap and it split that one as well, so I gave up and went back to the old fashion way. I only fill a few...

    Bottling from Keg using allinonewinepump

Hi, I have read some threads that some of you use the allinonewinepump. I recently purchased the pump for my wine making and wondered if any of you have used the pump to fill beer bottles from a carbonated keg. If so do you have any tips as I want to fill some bottles with the kegged beer as...

    Re-Carbonating beer in Keg

Hi all, I brewed an ESB and a porter in time Christmas 2012. I kegged both batches and both beers turned out great. Over the next 2 months I drank 1/2 of each. Then due to some medication I was taking for several months I was advised not to drink alcohol. Unfortunately my 5lb CO2 ran out of CO2...

    Help, 5lb CO2 only lasts about 2 – 3 kegs

Well I finally got around to checking for the leak. I submerged the keg so that both beer and gas connections and lid were submerged for at least 1 hour and set the pressure to about 20psi. I was hoping to see a stream of bubbles, but saw nothing. That leaves the CO2 tank, regulator and hose...

My Porter is flat, should it be?

I tried the set to 30 psi and shake etc method and it didn't work for me. After I found the carbonation table on HBT i decided to use the slow carbonation method, and it has worked great for me. I am not usually in a hurry to try the brew, so I will get some longer lines next week and set the...

My Porter is flat, should it be?

Started kegging this year and all of my other brews, about 8 of them, were carbonated to my liking after 5 or 6 days. Should this brew be any different to the others?

My Porter is flat, should it be?

I brewed my first partial mash 6 weeks ago and it was a Porter, with an OG = 1.052 and FG = 1.015 Ingredients 0.75 Ib. (0.34 kg) Halcyon pale malt 1.5 Ib. (0.68 kg) brown malt 1.0 Ib. (0.45 kg) English crystal malt (75 °L) 0.75 Ib. (0.34 kg) chocolate malt 1.0 Ib. (0.45 kg) Muntons...

    Help, 5lb CO2 only lasts about 2 – 3 kegs

Yes I have the regulator washer and a spare. It does tend to fall out whenever I remove the regulator, so it is not very snug in the lock nut.

    Help, 5lb CO2 only lasts about 2 – 3 kegs

Thanks for all the input. As I was getting the CO2 tank filled at the LHBS, they mentioned that the keg in and out posts may have a slightly different diameter on my ball lock kegs and that might be the cause of the leak, if I have them the wrong way round. Is that normal, if so how do I know...

    Help, 5lb CO2 only lasts about 2 – 3 kegs

Good Idea. I guess I could do the same with the kegs and lines. How can I check the regulator for leaks?

    Help, 5lb CO2 only lasts about 2 – 3 kegs

I started kegging 6 months ago and purchased 2 used kegs and a new CO2 bottle and regulator. After reading some of the forum postings, I assumed I should be able to carbonate and serve about a dozen kegs per 5lb refill. I use the Carbonation table for carbonation settings, but only get between 2...

    Another sweetness question

I have been extract brewing for about 18 months now and all of my brews have been ales, as that is what I prefer and I am happy to say that I have enjoyed all of them, especially now that I keg them. When I was living in London ( some 30 years ago) my favorite London beer was Fullers ESB. What I...

    How long should I Carnbonate

Thanks for the replies. I have been sampling every few days and it gets better every time. I will try a slightly higher PSI for my next brew and see if it makes much difference time wise. I like the set and forget method, but need to schedule my brewing better so that I do not run out of beer as...

    How long should I Carnbonate

I’m still new to kegging and have looked at many of the carbonation threads on HBT, including the Carbonation pressure chart http://www.kegerators.com/articles/carbonation-table-pressure-chart.php and the Carbonation chart from Bobby M...

    Harvested Yeast Layers

It been another 24 hours now and as suggested I needed to wait longer for complete separation. I will use this yeast now to brew during the week. Thanks for the advice.

    Harvested Yeast Layers

Could I transfer 2 and 3 to another jar, give it a shake and make a starter tonight to brew tomorrow, or would it be better to wait a few more days until the separation has completed? Thanks
