    Using Oreos

Doing a big stout with oreos - never used them before. I was planning on doing secondary - curious if you'd use the entire cookie or remove the creme? Pretty sure the cream is just crisco and vanilla so I was thinking of doing the wafer part of the cookie and adding some vanilla beans. Any...

How to remove the bitter flavor

A couple questions: So I did a pH reading of the beer and it's 4.51 so that should be okay, I believe. My tap water is 7.40 - is this normal? And when doing the flame out additions, do I want to quickly bring it down to 180, add hops and keep the wort chiller in and quickly bring it to 160? Or...

How to remove the bitter flavor

Thanks for all of the info. I'm going to get a pH meter and test that first. And for the next round I'll bring the temp down to 180 before doing my flameout additions. Much appreciated!!

How to remove the bitter flavor

I'm very (VERY) new to liking IPAs and at the moment I don't like any that are bitter at all. I'm really into the NEIPA style that are straight juice bombs (Aslin Double Orange Starfish and Pew Pew Pew are what got me into it). I made my first batch of a NEIPA and used citra/galaxy. The aroma...

Any recent updates to this? Thinking of attacking something similar to this.

Girl Scout Cookie Caramel Delites (Samoas) Beer

Hey - here's a picture. The cocoa powder made it much lighter and much more brown. As for the "pressing," - After 7 days in the secondary, I took some of the coconut and put it and some beer in a french press and pressed the coconut to get the most flavor as possible. After doing about half of...

Girl Scout Cookie Caramel Delites (Samoas) Beer

So I've been toying with this recipe for a few batches and by far the favorite: switched the nibs for 8oz of hershey's cocoa powder (this really messes with the color but if it tastes good, I'm happy) and put 4lbs of toasted (toasted is key, you have to toast it) coconut in the secondary and...

OFFICIAL Kate the Great Russian Imperial Stout Clone

I have been brewing this for a few years now. I have yet to do any oak/additives. Has anyone had success with doing the variants like Mott the Lesser uses? Was thinking of doing the AB/Rum/Bourbon/Port mixture. And if so, which did you like the best and what were the ratios? I was thinking of...

Evil Twin - Michigan Maple Jesus Clone

Anyone have anything they tried for this? I absolutely love this beer and have been wanting to experiment with some maple syrup. Just seeing if anyone has attempted a clone of the beer yet. OR if you have a maple stout you've made that you really liked, also would be interested in this. Cheers!

    DIY Label Applicator / Rolls

Hey all - I have researched this extensively and can't seem to find anything. Does anyone have any blue prints for something like this except for 12oz bottles? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LboMXXaG8s Also, where would you get a roll of labels like that? I want to build this device...

Help Needed: Funky Buddha - Love Below Clone

I don't even know where to start. Does anyone have a recipe that they've tried for this beer? It's my favorite of their offerings and I want to try to get something similar to it. Thanks in advance!

    Omnipollo Yellow Belly Clone

I was wondering if someone can assist in coming up with a recipe for this beer. I love it. I'm curious how they have such a thick mouthfeel. My guess is they have a high final gravity and lactose. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Love this beer and really want to try to make...

    Competition Categories

Thanks! The Santo Palo clone - the wood created a strong black licorice flavor - would that still be in 10C or would I need to move that one too (into say, wood aged)?

    Competition Categories

Hey all - I'm usually not very good at picking categorires for my beers. Clearly I need to learn this a bit. I plan to enter a few beers into the local one in DC. The beers I'm entering are the following. I have put the categories I think they are, can you confirm? A clone of Victory/DFH...

Last ditch advice for Palo Santo Marron Clone

Okay. I plan to age mine for a few more months to see if it settles. I guess my not liking licorice could be a reason I only taste that.
