    Why the insistencies? WHY?

I would agree that its not a technique issue. Its an issue of patience. Im a noob myself but all of my HB has improved with patience. Sometimes its hard to wait when even "green HB" taste soooo much better than 3/4 of the commercial brews out there.

    Bottling Tips for the Homebrewer

I replaced the nut with the elbow inside the bucket. I used 2 washers to seal against leaks. One on each side of the bucket - inside & out. If you look closely at my 2nd pic you can see them. I also used a bit of the plastic thread wrap

Are you the Black Sheep of your neighborhood?

I brew in the backyard so its kinda on the down low. The only person who has mentioned home brew to me was the U.P.S. guy. As he was delivering hb supplies.

    Aging methods

I'm guessing that your gonna bottle the batch before ya leave. If it were my brew I would put the bottles in a cardboard box on top of the fridge where its nice n warm. This will ensure that the yeasts will continue to work. Then make sure the MRS transfers to the inside of the fridge a few days...

What are the benefits to cold crashing?

I know it helps to clear the beer by having the particles in suspension fall to the trub layer... but how does this benefit the beer ? Taste better ? Smells better ? Better head ? Lasts longer ? Other ? Or is simply to have a more transparent drink ?
