    Bubbles aren't necessarily an indication of fermentation, could just be gasses releasing. have you taken a gravity reading? if not take one now, wait a week, then do it again. if you get the same # then fermentation is done. no harm in letting it sit another week in primary. good luck :mug:

    hmmm I'm not sure where the tab is so that is probably my issue, only used one duplex. where is the tab exactly? the other part of the problem is that F2 function was set at the default .5 deg c. The light would shut off at the target temp but the temp inside the ferm box would rise past .5...

    adding sugar after primary fermentation is done

    I added a lb of sugar boiled with a cup of water to my last IPA. It probably would have worked out fine but the weather hit 100 for three days straight while I was out of town and the carboy got too hot, major fusel alcohol problems.

    ok added 1lb of sugar boiled with 2 cups water for 10 minutes. Activity has indeed picked up, the krausen is back up to about 1.5inches and the airlock is bubbling like crazy.

    Right on I didn't realize that I could add sugar to the primary... I'm going to take a gravity reading when the krausen has fully dropped, probably tonight, might add some sugar depending on what reading I get. Would the sugar kick fermentation off again?

    The Pounder IIPA

    I'm not an expert but I think it will be super sweet/malty due to the high mash temp and crazy bitter with all those early additions and an extra 40 minutes of boil. Why didn't you do any late additions? I guess it depends on what you like, should be interesting to see how it tastes
