    Stout Recipe

So what I ended up doing was just heading to the LHBS and asking the people working there. I wasnt ready to go partial or all grain due to the fact of an electric stove that is either ON or OFF and would take forever to heat up the required water for a partial mash brew so I went with extract...

Lone Peak Brewery, Big Sky Montana - Bourbon Barrel Stout

OK so I understand how to get the bourbon flavor into my stout with wood chips soaked in bourbon. After some research online I have found a few places to buy chunks of whiskey barrels. However, what are suggestions on a recipe for the stout that come close to the description of Highway Hippie?

    Cleaning and Sanitizing Bottles

I am very new to this hobby but I figured I'd let you know how I bottled the last time. Everything I read on here made me alittle worried about bottling but it turned out fine. After finishing a beer I would rinse the bottle out and throw it in the dishwasher and run it with the dishes. After...

Harvest Pumpkin Ale - Pumpkin Spice Question

Thank you so much for the help drawtap. As someone just starting out its nearly impossible to find out the finer sides of extract brewing without asking or experiment. I just hate to have a bad experiment and wreck a whole 5 gallon batch of beer.

Harvest Pumpkin Ale - Pumpkin Spice Question

So I am making a pumpkin Ale from a local brew store kit and it calls for the addition of pumpkin spice. It calls to add 1 tbsp of pumpkin spice after 30min of boil time. New Brewer, forgot to take hydrometer reading before fermentation

I bought a liquid extract kit from my local store. I boiled some crushed grains, then added the extract, then some bittering hops, irish moss, and aroma hops. Its fermenting away in the basement right now. Is there ever a time when that initial reading is important? Also what is the point of...

New Brewer, forgot to take hydrometer reading before fermentation

I finally decided to give home brewing a shot and completely forgot to take a hydrometer reading once my wort cooled to 75 degrees. I know this wont effect anything, or at least i hope it wont. I was just wondering what it the point of this initial reading is for, thanks for the help.
