Winter Seasonal Beer Christmas in Belgium

Well. I really mangled this recipe but we will see what it delivers. Couldn't locate whole cardamom locally so I went with some ground. Totally forgot about the ginger so none there and I didn't get the dark amber candi syrup due to mental retardation. I did put extra amber candi in since I...

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Just pitched a couple packs of S-05 into 5 gallons of this a couple hours ago. Looking forward to seeing the results even though I am not a cider fan. The wife loves cider and if it turns out well I can see dedicating a tap on the keezer to her for good. I only got to 1.058 on gravity though...

    Stc1000 do's and don't

I keep it submersed in a cup of water in the well for my keezer, but i put it on the hump in the new 5 cubic foot fermwntation chamber.

STC-1000+ PI (the mash control firmware)

You're one smart cookie alphaomega. Thanks for all you are doing for the brewing community. Wish i could offer some suggestions but have no experience with automated brewing but I do want to start collecting hardware to do it some day. On a side note, I ordered a stc tbat arrived yesterday...

    Stc1000 do's and don't

I just built a second STC control box last night for a 5 cubic foot chest freezer I bought for a fementation chamber. I got a GFCI outlet for it and wasnt really thinking that you couldn't split the outlets so I had to leave the heat side disconnected. Will be ok since i can switch this to my...

    This Hottie Needs Your Vote

No, unfortunately she did not win but she gave it her best shot. We really appreciate all those that did vote for her, maybe next time and I am still a lucky man to have her. :):mug:

    bitter beer

That is a super interesting fermenter setup you have Golddiggie, thanks for sharing it. I would sorely miss watching my brew ferment in the carboy if I did something like this. Yes, fermenting is a spectator sport and I love to just stand there and watch the yeast go to town. :cross:

    Mash tun question....

I recently moved to AG from extract brewing and went with the 10g igloo cooler, like most here. I decided to go the SS false bottom and I can honestly say I am less than impressed. No matter how careful I am or how well I vorlauf I can never seem to keep the grain out of my wort. Granted, it...

Looking for an AG Amber Recipe...

similar to Barrel Trolley Amber. I did some searching around on the forums and see lots of wonderful recipes but none that I could look at the ingredients and say "AHA, Thats it!". To me this beer has a great floral bouquet with a smidgen of citrus/honey after taste. If I am at the store and...

    Going all grain...

Hey, how did you get the cooler out of my garage!? Just kidding, I made one like that myself a couple weeks ago for my foray into AG brewing and it is a heck of a lot easier than I thought. This was the recipe I used for the first attempt: Honey Saison - All Grain Batch Size (fermenter)...
