    Smelly reconditioned keg

Got my 2nd corny keg. Bought reconditioned because first one was and it worked nicely. I opened it up yesterday and it smelled like root beer. Will PBW fix this?

    Perlick S/S question

Got my Perlick PERL 525SS faucet and stainless shank combo yesterday. The faucet is supposed to be stainless steel but when I checked it with a magnet it was magnetic. when they say stainless on the faucet, does that mean just the inner part is stainless, or is the coating/finish magnetic? I...

    First all-grain

Ended up with 3.5 or so gallons rather than 5. Had small boil over when initially bringing wort to boil. Small leak in HLT fitting...easy fix. NO STUCK MASH! Yay! All said and done, I was shooting for a 1.041 OG for my Petite Saison d' ete from NB and got 1.053 (probably b/c of the reduced...

    Banks suck

Why is it that I can't get a loan or line of credit for a measly $2 or $3 k when i have a mortgage, good credit, good income, paid off truck, car loan, etc. I had a charge off for a department store 6 yrs ago and is that really stopping me!? I want a privacy fence to keep my drunk neighbor from...

    Refreshing Summer Brew

    Suggested Burners

I'm going to get a new propane burner. I would like one that would last me through doing full boils for 5 and eventually 10 gallon batches. I don't really want to order one so I'm looking at Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart, etc. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Big head and sweaty tap

I just finished my first LME batch. 2-hearted IPA clone. If you're turned out pretty good but I seem to have quite a large head on the beer. I'm wondering if it's too hot in my garage where I have my kegerator because I seem to be getting a lot of condensation on my tap. Have I over carbonated...

    Kegging.....fittings.......different sizes.......ARGH!!

Just wanted to vent a little. Getting in the final stages of building my kegerator and very fed up with all the different fitting sizes. Okay maybe some of that was my fault because I had picked up odds and ends from friends, but still.....1/4" co2 tubing....5/16" fitting on co2 bottle....piping...

    Sanitize Gas Lines?

Should I sanitize my co2 lines and distributer/fittings? Or is that unnecessary?

    Priming When Kegging?

I'm about to rack my first batch. Everything that I have read tells me I should prime the batch when kegging but with less priming sugar than if bottling. But my friend says I don't need to prime since I'm going to have gas hooked up to it. Any suggestions?

    Liquid or dry yeast

Any suggestions? Pros/cons... I'm brewing my first batch with liquid Wyeast 1056 American Ale. Noticed in transit it had been activated. Is there benefits to using liquid over dry?
