Collapsible Wood Gravity Fed Brew Structure

Thanks. I'm just using a hand truck to move it around right now and I think that will be fine in the future. I might put dedicated wheels on it one day though. It's pretty heavy and a bit awkward to move since it's so tall.

Collapsible Wood Gravity Fed Brew Structure

Well I finally got around to making this thing and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I'm looking forward to giving it a test run here in a couple of weeks. I'll probably end up cutting a few inches off the legs once I figure out exactly how high everything should really be. And...

Collapsible Wood Gravity Fed Brew Structure

That's a good idea about the sheet metal. It can be added once the base structure is completed too once we have a better idea of what the heat production will be. We'll lower everything as much as possible that still allows us to gravity feed. We'll refine the exact measurements of everything...

Collapsible Wood Gravity Fed Brew Structure

This Spring I'm going to start working on a brew structure. I'd like to make it out of wood since I already have the tools for it and don't have the metal working knowledge to make something from scratch. I'd like the design to be collapsible so that it takes up the minimum amount of space in...

    Epic Gaming Table

That's actually our current plan. We'll have to jack the table up though because the kegerator is actually higher than the desk surfaces. We'll figure that part out when we come to it though. No worries. Believe me we considered a lot of the ideas you mentioned. In the end though we...

    Epic Gaming Table

Now that truly IS epic. The good news is that our map surface will be interchangeable and I have plans on building a new map surface that incorporates one or more LCD displays that can be controlled with a laptop from the GM station. That will have to be added in the future though because...

    Epic Gaming Table

That was one of the biggest challenges. We also have to worry about sufficient cooling of the coils on the fridge. Hopefully our plans will work out. lol when that photo was taken we were working in a wood shop that was shared by several other people. I assure you that we will only be...

    Epic Gaming Table

Most of the time yes but I recently critically failed on my first lager. My second turned out much better though.

    Epic Gaming Table

Ten months ago I posted a question in this thread about bridging two home brew kegs because I was building a piece of furniture that would contain a kegerator that would be difficult to change kegs on. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/bridging-two-kegs-95316/ I wanted to come back and let...

Good point Bier. Thanks for bringing that up.

    Bridging Two Kegs

Haha it's not that kind of setup Bobby. Trust me, it's much much better. Eventually I'll get around to building a traditional Keezer with multiple taps for multiple kegs, but this project is all about getting as much beer from a confined, difficult to get to space as possible. It will all...

    Bridging Two Kegs

I figure the extra dip tube wouldn't be hard to acquire and put on so I think that's what I'm going to do to avoid the splash like you said. Keg 1 should fill with gas as the beer is being pushed into keg two to maintain equilibrium across the system but your comment made me think of something...

    Bridging Two Kegs

I'm working on a project that includes a kegerator that will be difficult to gain access to. I'm using the Danby DAR440BL which will hold two 5 gallon cornies but in order to minimize the number of times I need to get inside to change out the kegs, I'd like to bridge them together to...

Frustrated with all grain...going back to extract

As I stated in an earlier post, my friend and I have generally hovered around the 60-65% efficiency range ever since we started brewing AG. This happened even when we crushed the grains with our own Barley Crusher set to a very fine crush. Up until last night, I had always used a SS braid to...

Frustrated with all grain...going back to extract

I thought that my efficiency would soar when I bought my Barley Crusher but I continued to hover around the 65% area. Until I figure out what is wrong with my process, I'm just going to up the grain bill to hit my target OG. My guess is that it's a combination of things that's keeping my...

    CBCS - Hey-O from KY

Hey! Welcome from another Kentucky homebrewer. I did several extract kits before formulating my own recipes and eventually moving to all grain. All of them were pretty easy to make so I would just get the one that sounds good to you. The most important thing at this point is to hone your...
