    First time using Brett

So this will be my first time using Brett. I picked up a pack of wyeast Brett b, and my plan was to use it on a tripel that has been bulk aging since April and a saison that I brewed about a month ago. I was going to do a gallon of each in glass jugs. The tripel started at 1.090 (I added 2#’s...

Is 5 oz of Hops in a Saison too Much?

I am brewing a saison right now. Trying to figure out my hop schedule. The original plan was: 1 oz Hallertau (4.7%) @ 60 1 oz Styrian Golding & 1 oz Czech Saaz @ 15 1 oz Styrian & 1 oz Saaz @ 2ish Do you think that is too much hops for the beer. Should I cut back on some of the late...

Secondaried in two seperate carboys and only beer from one of the carboys carbed up

So I made and IPA with an OG of 1.080ish. It fermented fine. I used Wyeast 1272. After fermentation, I split the batch into two separate 3 gallon carboys to try different dry hops. Only the bottles from one carboy have carbonation. They have been in the bottles for close to two months now...

    Warrior/Chinook/Columbus/Simcoe Recipe critique

I am trying to put together an IPA recipe with warrior, chinook, columbus, and simcoe. I'm getting 2 ounces of each. Was thinking something along the lines of this: 4# Light DME 3# Light DME as a late addition 2# of either corn sugar or honey - probably half of it as a late addition 8...

First Partial Mash Attempt - Recipe Critique

So I am going to give this whole partial mash thing a shot. I get how to do it. I'm just not sure about the recipe I put together. I want to do an oatmeal stout. I might have went a little overboard with the grains. I'm still new at this, so I'm just winiging it Mash these: 2# - 2 row...

Splitting a batch into two different secondaries. Too much head space??

I want to start experimenting with different variables in a beer to see how single changes affect the outcome of the beer, so I can know how certain things taste. Like using different yeasts or repeating a recipe but changing one thing like a different steeping grain or the hops. I brewed...

Hop bag from the boil accidentally put in the primary

So my friend and I were brewing an Imperial IPA, and it seems like we had a few too many during the process and were a little careless. When we opened up the primary and went to transfer it to the secondary, we noticed that we accidentally forgot to take out one of the hop bags we used during...
